So just because you feel like you might not stand a chance(that's debatable by the way) , let's just strip ourselves of any chances. That makes total sense. If they ever come for our freedom of speech we can't defend it, so let's give up that as well. Oh and unlawful search and seizure, etc, etc.
If assault weapons are our only chance of overthrowing a tyrannical military then we are screwed.

You clearly know nothing about the military or Vietnam and the current war on terror.
Like I said earlier, guerilla warfare in a foreign land that the military was invading does not mean it would apply to here on the homeland. I’ve always found that argument to be such a joke. But hey man, if that’s how you feel on the subject matter then good for you. I’m not here to change your mind. I just don’t buy that US Civilians would win against our modern day military.

I’m not in favor of banning guns as much as I am banning talking about them in this thread.
Nope. We will solve the gun topic right here on .65!

I just find it so asinine. To me it's as outrageous as someone advocating banning free speech or the right to a trial because sometimes, very rarely, people do dumb shit.

Like I'm not religious at all, in fact I think organized religion is kinda silly and arguably bad for society in some aspects, but I'm glad I live in a country where freedom of religion is enshrined in our laws still.

Like many others here, I support the constitution, including the 2A.

When i look at which candidate for POTUS is violating the constitution, or will be more likely to do so, I believe Biden is the better candidate. Say this platform of his makes it through the Congress in its current form (very unlikely), it’ll be challenged immediately in court and eventually the SCOTUS.

Now granted I live in Cali so I have really strict gun laws already, but I really don‘t feel I’m being oppressed, as much as I’d like state wide concealed carry or a magazine larger than 10 rounds.

Again, I see a CinC violating the emoluments clause or owning massive personal debt to foreign banks as a much greater threat to law and order, and the constitutional republic we have versus Joe Biden trying to enact stricter federal gun regulations. Just my 2c. 🙂

To be clear I’m not in favor of banning guns. Just making a funny.

Look at Trump bringing congress together. 🙂
Why the fuck is he even involved with writing a law. The house and the senate need to pass a bill. There’s one sitting on Mitchs desk. They also can pass their own version and then negiotiate. Instead they are ramming through a justice that wants to bring us back to the 1840s.

Vietnam and the current war on terrorism are horrible examples for guerrilla warfare, both situations are tied back by the home populace and politics. Vietnam is a great example, it was almost won from a military standpoint, yet the civilian populace at home lacked in support. The current GWoT is another example of home politics influencing military doctrine, it is looser for cops than it was over there.

That doesn't include a duty to disobey, and the usual politics of individuals troops, which for some people are surprised to learn they aren't eager to invade Kentucky for example.

That's not to mention foreign intervention.

Everyone forgets that every military officer from top to bottom swears an oath to the constitution and nowhere in their oath do they swear allegiance to the president.

I'm sure the Chinese communist party would love a socialist coup of our goverment, that's one scenario that I would put down as feasible if we continue to let our goverment electees slide further and further towards communism.
