NATCA will probably take credit for the eventual fix and use it as reasoning why they could not get a raise that matches inflation.

I mean ops are above pre 2001 numbers but there hasn't been traffic since 2001.

I wonder how many controllers who witnessed 9/11 are left? I bet it’s very few, it was over 20 years ago and the FAA did very little hiring in the 90’s, so almost all controllers were in the 30’s and 40’s by then. I bet there are under 500 controllers who worked that day still in control or OS jobs, maybe even a lot less.
