Training hold

We are still in zoom training and they act like it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. It doesn’t help that some of the newbs tell them how great it is when we have our big meeting with everyone at the end of the week.

Just tell them it’s a waste of time. We were told if we stopped doing zoom they would stop paying us, and we haven’t zoomed in 6 weeks. Still paid tho.

They don’t really care what the feedback is. We are still going to do it. I’m not too worried about it. It’s 7 - 11 Monday - Thursday with about 90 min worth of breaks.

Ive been back training for weeks. Not certified on anything.
Yeah to be clear, I have been training. Worked all summer on the positions I have. Started training on the last two radars several weeks ago. Now almost done and put on hold. That situation is appearing to be less common than i had assumed

Sooo... I'm curious for those of you doing zoom...why not just play games and day drink during the courses?

Not like they can tell, at least that's why my college classes have turned into.

I was literally just thinking this. If you have to be in camera just set the webcam over the monitor with the game and have the zoom off to the left on a second monitor or whatever and go nuts.

Didn’t Natca say we aren’t required to be on camera? Only mic?
No cam is required for us. They prefer we don't use the cam because it's messes with the bandwidth or something and screws up whoever is actually talking/presenting.

Most people, I think, are doing something other than just sitting there staring at the zoom, but some instructors try to be more engaging and actually call on the students. We had issues early on with the start of zoom where that would happen but the students wouldn't be on the other end to respond and had multiple calls about it.

I wonder how many of the people running these zoom classes are old 2152 BUEs not managers. They took FTA and think they know how to teach using 15 year old training materials on new platforms they don’t know how to use. I bet you it’s many if not most. And yet here we are thinking that some lowly trainee telling them how to do their jobs will make it better? We can’t tell the work force to check their cedar.

A lot are probably BUEs without medicals as well.

None of the zoom classes are going to be happening starting Dec 12th. The shutdown is happening. Heard it here first.
