Training hold

Foogy you just gonna let this guy steal your shtick?

For real though, they're still scheduling virtual onboarding/basics. People are completing that, and then getting paid 40 hours/week to hang out at home until the academy opens back up. Nobody has to worry about their jobs any time soon.

As for the upwards trend of traffic still not bringing back trainees... This will be the first month of legitimately significant airline schedule bumps for a lot of facilities. I would bet that by the end of the month or early next month a lot of trainees will be called back. As discussed earlier in the thread, even a 100% jump in traffic when you were down to 5% of previous only puts you at 10%. There's not a breakpoint where everyone comes back, this isn't the count index with hard numbers like that. Imagine graph with two lines, one is the traffic and one is the risk of flooding the facility. Traffic is trending upwards, risk seems to be trending downwards right now. When the two lines meet somewhere, then people will start going back.

And to the covid is fake stuff, I hope we all know that's stupid. Hopefully this isn't straying too far off topic from the mods, but it's really horrifying how a lot of people treat politics like team sports and have such blind loyalty. We're living in a world right now where opinions are allowed to compete with facts, and what someone says isn't as important to them as who's saying it. We took all these drastic measures and STILL over one hundred thousand Americans died. Imagine if we had done nothing? How can you possibly say it's some political conspiracy?

That’s basically one of the most offensive words in the English language right now, psychological and medical journals have been updated to use alternative phrases for it and it entails immediate disciplinary action when kids are caught using it in the school yard. Your words expressed display the true hate in your heart.
You give the mentally retarded a run for their iq points

It's a mass conspiracy because that's what backs up their world view and they lack empathy.

And ya, we are busier this week where I am but that's mostly mil trainers getting back out. Have seen some flow times for the first time in a while but I think those were wx related. I don't see the point of bringing everyone back till at least the end of this month, and frankly, yes I'd love it if we did this thru the summer just for personal reasons.

We’re a little busier only because the tankers from the local AFB keep coming because they know there won’t be airline traffic to get in their way.

Wait, is ATC a safe space? I was told to have thick skin coming in here, was I misled?

You misunderstand. You must have thick skin for expected insults, but "retarded" crosses the line.
Instead of retarded, might I suggest:
Retarded doesn’t cross a line. People are too sensitive. A teacher in college used the term retarded in its proper form, and was still reported by idiot students. Get off the SJW horses already.

In the words of the great Kirk Lazarus, “Never go full retard.”

Retarded in its intended form wasn’t a bad word until people started using it to make fun of everyone who did some dumb shit. I personally wouldn’t get offended if someone called me a retard but I can definitely understand why it’s offensive to people with disabilities.

What’s the rush to get trainees back in the building if there’s no training AND no contractors to conduct training?? Just wanna go to work and sit there and get paid the same as if you were home....I don’t get it
Because at lots of facilities, there's no contractors. And the supervisors and staff support are the ones that do the classroom training and any simulations. Plus, waiting for traffic to return before starting training is not how it's going to be. We will do training when trainees are brought back...and I'd be surprised if it lasts beyond July 1st.

Not doing simulator training when the traffic is slow is like the dumbest concept ever anyways.
