Training hold

I think the mask wearing should be less if a political issue. Even post covid or whatever, if you have a cold, you should wear a mask to work-like they do in other countries. I don't know if it's legal or plausible to require them. I'm not wearing one but my trainees better

COVID-19 cases are increasing because of increased testing availability, which was expected, and which is why every state is continuing with reopening. There’s only a handful of people at this point that don’t want to restart training because of “social distancing.” And those are very likely the same people spending their 5 (or 10) off going to restaurants, bars, packed Walmarts, or even taking cross country trips. But it’s the trainee sitting next to them that’s going to get them sick. Yeah right.
Don’t blindly follow Trump’s BS. The number of tests and number of positives isn’t important. The percentage of positives is far more important

The positivity rate for the given number of tests is what is important. If you only test 100 people but get 10 positive results, you’re at a 10% positivity rate, but if you test 10,000 and get 100, you’re only at 1%. More positive cases does not mean things are getting worse. And for the record, I am not a Trump supporter.

You said exactly the same thing I just said.

I mean he's not wrong. The FAA is considering pulling people back in when there's a lot of states not initially hammered with this thing now seeing severe upticks. My state had a 50 percent increase in cases this last week.

If they are going to bring people back in, they need to do it in a way that uses some sort of local metric, not a blanket policy for everyone.
Yeah I mean what, they're gonna pull us back onto the floor to train up and git-r-dun so I can take 4 months to get flight data and use me for "staffing" when they're still doing 5/5 and oh also you have to wear a mask for 8 hours because there are too many people in the facility? Gtfo.

We have all been around long enough to know how this is going to go. We're going to go balls to the wall for a few weeks "woohoo we're back to normal" and then either the 2nd wave hits and traffic dies again like some people are saying is going to happen in October anyway when the federal money dries up, or they decide we cant fully certify because the traffic isnt there, or etc etc and then we just sit around in the facility and self-study for months while another decision gets made, planned, and implemented.

If the decision is a polar "either you come in and get jerked around for months on end, or you sit at home and get furloughed" then yeah sure of course I'm going to choose the former, but the agency heads aren't responsible for furloughing us and from what I hear from people I know at HQ, the reason we're getting this Zoom stuff set up in preparation for coming back in to the facility and train isn't because the traffic is coming back, it's because the fact that we're sitting at home getting paid for nothing is chapping some higher-ups asses.

So yeah, if I have to come in to work to get paid then sure I'll come in, but I'm gonna ride this gravy train as long as I can. And if I do have to come in, it won't be in a mask.

More concerning is the fact that they’re not getting better. We’re still failing by plateauing
Well I think that’s probably a result from everywhere reopening. The fact that there wasn’t a major upwards trend when places started reopening stores/restaurants/bars is a good sign considering we’re plateaued roughly where we were when everything was still shut down. This will probably be the new norm until there’s a vaccine to be honest.

Unless they say you have to wear a mask

Why should the trainee have to? They are being forced to come in and work just like you will be. Because you’re better than them as a CPC? ?. And don’t forget not all trainees went home to live the glorious EA life.

Gov says it safe for me to d side. Still waiting for clarification why it’s not safe to train. I guess 3 feet lateral separation is better than 3 feet longitudinal separation.

I’ll be wearing a mask once we begin sitting closer together and if my trainee doesn’t want to wear a mask then they can find a new trainer.
This.

Also just heard we’re being issued mask. Guessing this is gonna be part of the training plan.
