Visual separation tower subject your discretion change

i was taught to say: visual separation is approved between departure and arrival, departure is released subject your discretion.

my trainee is telling me they're being taught, i assume in okc and in classroom to leave out the "SYD" part.

I believe she is right, however, when did this change occur? I'm just curious what year it was

Well the phraseology was never "RELEASED SUBJECT YOUR DISCRETION." It was always just "RELEASED YOUR DISCRETION."

But that phraseology was removed with the 7110.65W CHG 1 dated 5/26/2016.

Actually I think it was changed with N JO 7110.696 dated 12/14/2015.
