Look at the leg room of the third row, then the truck space with the third row up. You won't be able to fit adults in the third row nor a stroller in the truck. Not good. Look at the suburban, Tahoe, traverse, explorer, atlas, Volvo, sequoia etc.
3rd row not really a deal breaker for us (just the one kiddo), but good info, because ya I hate the false advertising "3rd row seating" a lot of cars have.

I like the idea of the american steel v8 4x4 Tahoe, but I hate the price tag and the gas mileage.

Bro you just named a whole car brand rather than a model. Toyota Highlander looks good too. But damn. All cars are pricey AF

That’s the big thing for me. I’m not a tree hugger nor care about the environment. But I want to get good MPG to save my money.

My FIL has a highlander, great little suv but ya they want a pretty penny for one compared to other cars in the class.
My wife wants the fkn panoramic moonroof. More like small as shit moon roof. Only comes on the platinum and that’s 50k. Model Y is 50k too and you have a glass roof.

I mean I try to be environmentally friendly when I can, and I do care as an outdoorsman and such, but I don't break my back to do so, but ya I'd be lying if I said monthly fuel bill wasn't a deciding factor too.

If you haven’t yet, test drive any Tesla, try out autopilot. That shit is the reason why I’d buy one. Yeah you spend more time on trips because it takes a little longer to charge. But you don’t realize the stress relief from not driving. And if anyone else agrees with me, we are all not close to family so road trips are a must.

I've actually got a pre-order on a cybertruck. I think the electric motors are gonna be a game changer for towing and hauling shit.

Sounds like you might need a little more space but I would say the 4runner or Telluride would be worth looking into.
4Runner sucks more fuel than a hooker on a Friday night. Have you owned a Kia before?

I’d buy one yesterday if I could.

I haven't but depending on what year you're comparing them to Kia has grown exponentially in quality. Everything I have seen or heard about the Telluride is pretty good.
I’ve heard the same too. They look great. Just don’t know about dependability. I’ve had Toyota’s and I’ve already done the Chrysler shit show

Wife also hates the minivans, as do I, she likes the pudgy wagons though. I wouldn't want it for my personal car but as the kid hauler road trip machine..... Happy wife happy life and all that jazz.

I guess minivans hit 40k about the same time a reasonably equipped pickup hit 65.

Shit is bonkers.
I’ve been wanting a Toyota Tacoma, but a brand new mid-size truck costing $45-50k makes my head spin

I think those fuckers come with like 5 year warranties
I’ve seen signs saying 10 year/100k warranty for kias forever. Idk if that’s to build confidence or to say we have shit cars and we will fix them when they break!

Yeah, any vehicle 10 years ago that was 30s is now 40s. I’ve read somewhere that the cost of new vehicles hasn’t increased anymore than inflation. Medical expenses were like 250%.

Anyone out there have a family and looking to buy a new car? If so, what are you thinking about getting?
I've been going back and forth about a used tesla, for 40k I can get a low miles fully self driving model. Figured the gas savings and autopilot reducing stress on the long freeway portions might make up for it. Just gotta get qualified first.

I don’t mind the idea of a used Tesla. Maybe a used model Y in like 5 years.

They started the 10yr/100k warranty when they were shit and used it as a way to build the brand and get better engineers, develop better QA procedures etc. Now they make a pretty excellent car. It's actually a pretty cool story to look at how they developed thier business model and their products. I wouldn't hesitate to drive a Kia over any other import at this point honestly.

And yes Chrysler vehicles suck donkey dick. I have a jeep grand cherokee that is the biggest pile of shit I've ever owned. Used to be great little suvs. Trash now.

Can we talk about something more arousing? Gun control?
You rang?

So much for Biden being “too busy” to enact gun control, barely made it two months in and he’s trying to take my gun rights away.

Hoping the courts will make quick work of this Brace regulation nightmare that will make millions of people felons overnight.

But to contribute something to the vaccine discussion, It’s pretty awful seeing Fauchi blatantly lie repeatedly in videos like this:

Yeah I got my wife a FIAT 500 in 2012. My god what a piece of shit. Couldn’t even fuck in the back seat.
