Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-22-ATCEXP-80642

Jez, my condolences, but their are plenty of threads that talk about it. From reading them it seems to add a minimum of 6 months to even over a year on your timeline. You got to talk to a shrink and take some more tests. Their seems to be a huge waiting period for the tier 2 medical team to view your situation. Best of luck.
Way longer than that. I’m from the ‘21 prior bid and have been tier 2 for 19 months. Just had my appointment earlier this month. It adds probably 2 years to your hiring process.

Yeah I respect it man. But see me personally…I wouldn’t let that slide. The regional surgeon is the only person who really knows what’s wrong with your packet if the AME already submitted it. Shout out your patience tho.
I reached out to regional more than once. They said they couldn't even see my records until the virtual hiring team was done with them. Fortunately, I'm employed at a decently busy FCT and pay isn't bad. Due to that, i'm not in an extreme hurry, but sooner would be better than later.

Same boat as dubdub. 6 months is extreme wishful thinking. 2 years is realistic. Not telling you this to bring you down but rather to give you good information so that you can plan your life accordingly. I ended up doing trade school first, and then jumped into a nearby fct. Good luck.

Recieved an email this morning that I've been tier 2'd from MMPI. If anyone has any insight as to how my future looks from here anything helps. Otherwise, good luck to all of you and I'll see you on the other side.
So I was Tier 2’d from my May 2018 prior exp bid and I didn’t clear tier 2 till around Oct 2021. I then got my list later than year in 2022.

That's a bummer man, my thoughts are with you and prayers for a speedy ass process for you! When did you take the MMPI2?

Question for people who have gone through this more than once: I applied last bid and got all the way to my FOL before saying no. This cycle has gone quicker and my CIL only had a drug test and security. I know the MMPI carries over for a bit but it mentions nothing about medical. Since my last AME visit for last bid is less than a year old are they just using that information or did they likely just forget to include medial instructions? Wondering how much I should pester HR.

I appreciate the feedback. Hoping we can do a little better than that…

I took it on 12/12. I appreciate any prayers I can get! A real downer for sure

Anyones HR rep JW? Completed all my CIL on Dec 20th and haven’t heard any news yet
I had her and she didn’t provide me any information after my CIL, even neglected to tell me I already had a valid security clearance from prior work. It’s still a bit early to reach out but definitely if you can’t get thru to her reach out to each individual office on our whatever questions you have (security, medical, etc).

I have her as well. Completed my CIL Dec 13th and haven't heard anything either. I did reach out around Dec 15th just to ask about changing the availability date I put on the ATO survey (since I originally put May 2023 but now I can start whenever). She emailed back fairly quickly but only said she passed the info along. Nothing since.

She also never mentioned anything about my security clearance. I have a secret clearance from USMC but FAA still had me do fingerprints and NBIS (different than eqip?). I just figured it was because my last background check for my clearance was old (June 2017). Anyone have any insight on that? I know clearances don't transfer between departments, but more on why they had me fill out my background check through NBIS and not eqip?

Just got a call with an offer for JCF. Haven't gotten a list yet but curious if anyone had any thoughts on the facility? He said it'd be the only level 8 I'd be offered since I'm cleared for up to 7, but I'm not sure if I'd enjoy living in California. Hoping this means list coming soon?

I mean, a combined control facility on an Air Force base sounds pretty cool. Lvl 8 out the gate is a sweet offer too. Locality is 33% and above 80% success rate. Maybe try and find someone working there and pick their brain

Thanks I'm definitely excited with the offer, just not sure with cost of living in California. Also sucks to try to make a decision without knowing my other options. I was surprised about the level 8 too. I just have 4 years radar only experience with the military.

The DOD is bleeding JCF dry. Horrible staffing and everyone is jumping ship. Id definitely tour the facility before accepting. Not trying to be a Debbie downer at all just my 2 cents

I received the same offer

No you have a perfect approach. Make sure to cover all the bases before accepting anything. Even at face value a lot of facilities look great but can have underlying staffing/morale/training issues. Odds are the facility you get will be your home for the next 5+ years minimum as you work to CPC and someday move somewhere more desirable.
