After you hardship to a new facility. Is there a minimum amount of time that you need to be there before you can try to ERR out?

WOW this is part of the problem, people abusing the system, but to answer the question no there isnt but there should be, but you should get certified before you ERR in my opinion
We had a guy at my facility hardship in last January! Less than a year later with the hardship still in full effect he got picked up last NCEPT and is leaving. So no there isn’t any real regulation on that.

Pre-ERR MOU I would agree with you, but if a hardship is the only way out of your facility I say you do what you gotta do.

Like others have states, no there is not a timeframe.

I sincerely hope you mean transferring within the metro area that you hardship to. With a 3 level cap, there are plenty of areas around the country that people can hardship to, but still have career aspirations within the same metro area.

If you mean transferring anywhere in the US, you can, but if for some reason you ever need an actual hardship, the odds of it being successful based on past actions is very slim.

Thanks for the responses. Don't hate the player....This is the FAA/Unions fault really for locking certain facilities down. We have had plenty of people use allergies as the reason to get out. I've put in my time where I'm at, the hour long commute between quick turns is getting really old and Im not throwing down a mil to live within 15 minutes of the place in a pos.

It's your fault.

It should frustrate you, and should only be used for legitimate reasons. Sorry to hear about your situation.
Zyrtec departure. No joke, we've had people use this.

Theres no other way out these days dude, would you rather he quit?
There is ways out. Not necessarily as a controller within the FAA, but there's DOD facilities to apply to. Or some supervisor jobs you might be able to get a release for. Or other jobs not in the ATO, but that have return rights.

So someone with allergies is just as bad as someone intentionally scamming the hardship system?

New user here. Hello all. I thought I’d just ask for input on my situation than to make a new post...

I’m looking to hardship out for “estranged child”. Specifically, I got divorced late 2014 and ex got custody. They moved to Europe in early 2015. I got hired by the FAA after that in 2015. My ex and son are moving back to the states and this will be the first opportunity I have at being close to my son. I’ve ran it by my fac rep and he said it sounds valid.

For those of you with experience, what do you think about my case? Also are there certain things I should be sure to mention or not include to help my chances. Thanks.

You guys for real?
We've gotten so comfortable with waste, fraud and abuse that we're literally advocating for it on a public forum now. It's not there to advance your career. And it's not victimless. It's a program negotiated for in the contract. This is the membership degrading its own leverage.
The least you could do is carry your own accountability and keep your mouth shut. Otherwise the agency could shut the door and poor @odotsal is never gonna see his kid.
Cuz @Stler and crew didn't like their duty station.

It would be a cold day in hell before something like Hardship is taken away. I can just see the Union's reaction to something like that

We've all heard it... Do what your career can stand...

Everyone will have their own opinion. As stated, no there is no limit or minimum timeframe requirement. To be frank, if you don't pursue it, someone else will. And if you sleep better at night knowing you were Moral Orel and followed every rule to a T while you watch someone else waltz out the door, then do that. If you don't mind a little short term pushback and animosity from your coworkers for what would amount to be a long term benefit for you, then go for it. Worst the agency can do is disapprove it and voila, you're right back where you started and can pop that pipedream bubble.

Good luck...

The OP’s question has been answered.

There needs to be a separate thread created to discuss opinions on the legitimacy of hardship abuse or not.

If I go the hardship route I don't plan on using allergies as the reason. Just wanted to shine some light on some of the BS out there.
I do have a qualifying reason I could use... anyways good talk yall.
