File it. Be prepared for it to be disapproved because the “situation existed prior to you accepting the position.” Hope that it gets approved because there is no standard or consistency from one hardship request to the next.New user here. Hello all. I thought I’d just ask for input on my situation than to make a new post...
I’m looking to hardship out for “estranged child”. Specifically, I got divorced late 2014 and ex got custody. They moved to Europe in early 2015. I got hired by the FAA after that in 2015. My ex and son are moving back to the states and this will be the first opportunity I have at being close to my son. I’ve ran it by my fac rep and he said it sounds valid.
For those of you with experience, what do you think about my case? Also are there certain things I should be sure to mention or not include to help my chances. Thanks.
Soapbox: were I king for a day, the hardship program would be revamped for better integration with the ERR process and standards for approval/denial.
