I see that I’m curious what they have been receiving over the last 14 years though. Have they been stagnant like people are saying? If so, this is weak af.
I absolutely concede I could be reading it incorrectly, but I believe they have been mostly stagnant. They still had their general step increases, but that was about it.

The oddest part to me was that for the 2014 extension, the union leadership actually recommended that the members reject Boeing's offer but the members voted 51% to accept it (main story continued on page 5 of the newsletter).

That’s why they put bs like ratification bonuses. A lot of members can’t turn down even a tiny bonus they could have tomorrow.

Not sure how it works for Boeing but with the airlines since their contract never actually ends, when they finally sign a new contract the initial raise is back dated to the end of the last contract and they get a big retro check. So if the Boeing contract is similar than it's not that bad but idk

Correct, it’s governed by the Railway Labor Act-Contracts don’t expire. Big retro $ when they sign

So how would the raises be retro since they are different every year ? I don’t think this is what is happening at Boeing. Otherwise their employees wouldn’t be against this

Sorry, I was talking about airline contracts

Would just be based off the initial raise that they get upon signing. But like the other person said that's only really applicable to unions under the Railway Labor Act since their contract becomes amendable and doesn't expire. I don't know if Boeing is covered under that.

Hey guys,

I’m not always up to date on union stuff.

Am I reading this right, is our contract already being negotiated?

Is our pay being negotiated to be increased?

If so, how have I never seen anything from the union that this is happening? How has this never been mentioned by anyone at my facility?

What is going on? Is this on the Natca site?

No it's not being negotiated.

Santa asked to open the slate book early and was told to get rekt by Whitaker.

Santa says if he is reelected that he will negotiate new contracts. Lil Yachty can't decide if the orange man is bad enough to be so scared to just extend again.

So, what is the point of this thread? What is changing in light blue book or purple book that people are waiting to cast vote?

I missed something…
Well the people that are currently under the light blue book and the purple book are in negotiations. The slate book is not

Yes, you missed something.

Slate Book CBA covers most controllers and isn't set to expire until 2026 currently.

The Purple Book CBA and Light Blue Book CBA expired July 1st, 2024 and negotiations allegedly started in March or so. Those CBAs cover some active controllers (staff support specialists) and many other bargaining unit positions (approximately 25% of NATCA's total membership).

The negotiations were ongoing before the start of the election (when this thread was originally started). This originally was a poll to see if NATCA members would wait to see if there was any news on these negotiations that might sway their vote. These contracts (light blue and purple) will likely contain language that will be carbon-copied for when the Slate Book comes to the bargaining table. The Purple Book was originally written prior to the Slate Book, covers a small set of active controllers, and language that was used in the Purple Book was used to form the Slate Book in 2016.

Is there any updates to these negotiations? Is there a way to find out?

Region X Bargaining Update

Sisters and Brothers,

Over the last several weeks, negotiations for the successor agreement to the Light Blue and Purple Books have progressed at a steady pace, with the Parties meeting face to face on alternating weeks and your negotiating team convening during the other weeks to work through and draft Union proposals on outstanding issues.

During this time, the Parties have concluded negotiations on the outstanding national Memoranda of Understanding bringing the number of national Memoranda that will be carried forward into the successor Agreement to 44. Negotiations are now centered on the outstanding Articles and Appendices that were included in the focused negotiations framework. Of these Articles, the Parties have already “tentatively agreed upon” (TAU’d) fifteen Articles. Ten additional Articles are in active proposal stages and four Articles are pending the first pass across the table by the respective Parties.

As we have moved deeper into these negotiations, we are now dealing with economic items or issues that impact economics. As you would expect, the interplay between these various outstanding issues becomes more critical and our approach needs to remain deliberate and strategic.

We know that everyone is anxious for information, but bargaining is often sensitive and sharing details is a delicate matter. We will continue to provide updates as best we can as the process continues to unfold.

In Solidarity,

Accidentally poised this question in the wrong cba thread so I'll past it here: Will there be a provision covering what kind of time off or rewards are given for washing out and punching a fellow bargaining unit member in the face?
