2025 Federal Pay Raise

If we're asking for more than a commander of a nuclear sub makes, then the "good reason" is because neither of us are paid enough to begin with.

We are at least 2 years past the point where any ATCS/OS/OM/ATM needs to be talking about why XYZ won't work to get us a raise or having the audacity to say or suggest we are fairly compensated - especially in light of the wage increases (percentage based or other) seen everywhere from Bucees to Chipotle to Walmart - to Longshoremen to UPS drivers to FAs and Pilots.

STOP. LOOKING. FOR. REASONS. TO. HOLD. US. BACK.

Best of luck to Nick in getting us what we deserve.
Yeah nick better do something other wise we’ll all give ourselves raises and get out of the union. I’m at damn near 100 bucks a check. Imagine that invested over the next couple years.

Then you don’t work at a level 12.

149k-188k is the range of base pay for level 12 facilities. You must be a new cpc at one a the few below 160k. Thats the only way, or you are just mad and making shit up. Either way I don’t care
You sure post a lot for someone who doesn't care.
Cared enough to retort when someone called you on your bullshit.

Any 12 RUS is not making the numbers you're pulling out your ass.

Those numbers aren’t pulled out of my ass. Those are the bands people make. Very few level 12 cpcs make less than 175. That’s all I’m saying, you are holding onto something that doesn’t really matter

I know this is an argument about 12s, but my buddies and I in the SoCal area saw what some Midwest level 5-6 towers are making. Roughly 78k as CPC… That’s criminal… I know we gotta raise the pay at 12s, but man we gotta close the gap and bring those below us up. I was talking to someone at a 5 in the Midwest and they have had 2 CPCs hardship, 4 trainees quit this year, 1 is in the process of quitting as we speak, and one quitting at the end of their training hours.. Pay is so low they can’t afford life. So just saying let’s cool the jets, we all want money, but we gotta remember that even as underpaid as we are, there are some in WAY worse off positions than us…

Then don't act like every 12 makes you're magical number.

Every 12 that is rest of US is NOT making what you said. First it was everyone makes more now you're at very few make less.

I don't think a single controller for the FAA at any facility should be making less than $100k annually.

Can't be said loud enough.
Really, this is what makes most sense to me. Albeit that would be a ~50% raise to the base. If applied across the board, then personally, I would make without 6 day workweeks what I make currently with 6 day workweeks.

I maintain that I make enough money as is... just that I shouldn't be working 6 days a week for it.

An RUS level 12 would start at 225K. Absolutely reasonable. Though to the best of my knowledge, would require an act of congress. (Gulp)

Yes and a lot of controllers are making less than 100k at CPC with little in the way of upward movement.
1600 of the 10800 certified work at a level 6 and below. 420 of the 2900 trainees also. not counting those facilities 85 percent of us at CPC make 100 K, and even some of us at those level 6s. so around 90 percent of us make 100K plus. just saying. what percentage makes 130+? 150?

15% of the workforce is significant IMO. We are also weeding out what’s thrown at us from the academy to eventually go to the 9’s and above, cause who would wanna go to a 7 or 8 with that writing on the wall, pay not keeping up for them either. Definitely unappreciated work but we are expected to train all the damn time while many are waiting years for the NCEPT lottery that comes around maybe once every 3-5 years, no spot leave etc.
It’s now making more sense to bid backwards to level 4 quick checkout facility that consistently releases for the best odds to get to a desired facility.

taking a pay cut to go back to a 4 does not make sense to very many people. maybe a handful at most.

Let’s get that last 10-15% ( 1200ish) up to 100k mark.
it wont take much.

Yup I wish I knew sooner. I’m going on 8 years at my facility. We haven’t released anyone on NCEPT. And there’s no end in sight.

Don’t spend it all in one place!
The real question is, what is everybody cutting back on? This shitty-ass joke of a “raise” combined with the average 15% increase in healthcare premiums equates to an effective pay CUT for many people. Less money in our pockets while everything has gone up in cost. And every other career in the industry has seen 30-40%+ pay raises. We are so fucked.

I can only get a ribeye once a week now. It’s a travesty.
