It's Over (Finally)

The only thing I care about in there is pay cuts which I’ll believe it when I see it, hear that every election cycle. You want me to wear a dress shirt and slacks? That doesn’t bother me.

Look I’ve voted democrat since I’ve became a union member 15 years ago. This is the first year I voted for a republican for president, I didn’t vote for him in 16 or 20.

I’m at the point now where I know the union isn’t going to help me get pay raises. My quality of life was much better 5 years ago. Maybe Trump will fuck it up but I’m willing to take a chance at lowering my cost of living and buying a few extra dress shirts than wait for this union to get me real pay relevant to our work with an administration they’ve have 4 years to do it with. And I know they’re not even going to try under Trump.

Curious, because I didn't vote for dems or reps in 16 or 20--- why wait until after he literally undermined our democratic process to vote for him? Because inflation after a global pandemic and corporate buyouts of real estate?

Dress shirts and slacks don't bother me either--- as an adult and a professional. But according to our employer, we're not either. So not cool with it.

"My quality of life was much better 5 years ago." can you be more specific? Like... more than a basic feeling that things were better, and something specifically attributable to POTUS?

Umm we were building a wall to keep illegals, cartel members, terrorists etc. out of our country? (The whole Mexico will pay for it BS is a whole other topic of its own)

Do you really have zero regard for the American citizens that have been killed or homes forcefully raided by those named above?

A reminder that my question was: can you be more specific when you say "My quality of life was much better 5 years ago".
Your answer on behalf of OP: "we were building a wall"

Sorry to hear that the specific impact to your quality of life was ----you were laid off while building a wall, I guess? Hope ATC works out better for you.

Harvard, with its 45 billion dollar endowment, took 10s of millions in PPP loans and then fired all their hourly cafeteria and dining hall workers
The ppp loans was like 750 billion, poof gone. Conservatives abused it as much as liberal elites like Harvard. Brett farve for instance.

You say you care about American citizens being killed or forcefully raided, then where is your outrage for the killing of Buck Laramore who was killed after a cop illegally broke into his house and still kept his job. Same with Breonna Taylor whose warrant was obtained without probable cause and cops admitted to lying and she was exercising her 2nd amendment rights. Cops still kept their job. Those deaths are equally as preventable as the murders committed by illegals. Not a peep.

Who said I wasn’t outraged when both of those happened as well? Do yall just think nobody can be an independent anymore?

Also, way to deflect from a valid counterpoint lol.

You have to be willfully delusional to have this outlook. I guess you've never heard of the white book. Hired 15 years ago? You were hired literally right after it went away. Short term memory I guess. If you think Trump will lower your cost of living... lmao. His explicit plans for tariffs are going to be significantly increase your costs and cause even more inflation. He's been straight up telling you he's going to do this.

Tariffs were heavily utilized in his first term between 2016 and 2020 and inflation remained stable around the federal reserve’s long term target of 2%.

Nice to talk to you again, blarg. Hope you’re well.
