Press Conference at 11am

Wow. There are lots of places on that list I know current CPCs have been or would like to get to but due to our broken ERR system can't. Now they are giving those places to new hires w/ an "award".

If I wasn't already, I would be even more pissed at the Union. The Union is lucky that most of the workforce is a bunch of gen Z who don't care about shit.
I don’t think Gen Z cares yet because most are training or recent CPCs. It won’t take them long to realize they aren’t getting paid enough. Especially when all their friends are working remote and have similar pay.

None of my friends make close to what I make, the only ones who make more than me are surgeons and doctors. The median wage in this country is still like 45k, I'm not sure where people think this is some dead end job. So many people here have been in this job so long that you are entirely out of touch with the real world.

I am not one of those. Unless you are at a level 11-12, there are remote jobs now on par with our pay.

The number of lives at stake in the burger industry is of course a lot more than in ATC, and one of the reasons that I strongly advocate that we should make less (and work more). The guilt of my high pay in my luxurious 1-bath rental is too much to bear.

I'm curious as to what you think we should be making.
Less, and they don't need to stipulate. The FBO manager, various airport personnel, two of my friends who work at a power plant, etc., all make more than me with significantly improved quality of life, but I am out of touch. We should advocate for pay reductions, if anything. I would say that max pay for ATC should be 200K, and that's on introduced 7s, with time off being only vacation.

And notice the wording: "It’s such fake news that these all these easy to get 200k jobs. They’re out there for sure but not that easy."

The implicit assertion is that a 200K ATC job is an "easy to get" one, and suddenly we're identifying that sure, these non-ATC 200K jobs exist, but being a burger store manager isn't easy like being a 10-11-12 controller somewhere.

It's ok. I know you support Nick and Jamaal. You defended them when I complained about the yacht.

You're part of the problem.

July 2019 shows 80.6% success rate (this is when the NTI started)
May 2025 shows 81.2% success rate.
2022 shows some months of 82% success rate
In 2016, we had a 76% success rate across the NAS.

Now I know I'm not a math wiz but seems like more people are checking out and not being washed out but maybe those success rate numbers are fake news.
You don’t even know what creates that data. You’re just talking out of your ass. I’m not even defending the NTI. Just calling you out for making shit up

We make good money. Problem is this job used to be considered great money.
The career just hasn’t kept up with inflation. At all. If you made $100,000 in 2005 you were solidly upper middle class almost anywhere. Now $100,000 in most cities is barely enough to scrape by. And there’s still plenty of controllers that don’t make six figures. There’s probably some level 4-5’s out there that literally pay less than some fast food jobs.

People in this career are so out of touch it's fucking insane lmao
“People have it worse so you’re insane to ask for better.”

There’s 304.1 million people in the USA. There’s 11k controllers. That’s .00003% of the population. We do a job many people don’t want. We work fucked up hours. Our job isn’t filing paperwork with a cover sheet, there’s real life consequences to this shit. This job takes years off your life. It impacts your personal relationships and mental health.

To demand better compensation isn’t “out of touch.” Not knowing your worth is.

We lost out to inflation. Inflation isn’t NATCA’s fault. But poor planning and not actually advocating for our pay is. For an administration that was “never going to give us any money” they sure are giving the career field lots of money. Too bad the folks keeping this system going ain’t seeing a penny of it.

I’m embarrassed by y’all controllers pushing back on demands for pay increases. Y’all are the types that need that need 20 MIT without weather around.

When have I ever said we don't deserve more money, we can both deserve more money and be wildly out of touch what the average person goes through. I know a lot of people here don't give a fuck about those average people, and they will say the same thing when it comes to us not getting a raise.

What does someone else working in a different job have to do with my pay raise?

Well said. Should’ve capitalized on the attention we got from both sides of the aisle. Both sides agree our career field is over worked and under staffed.
