100 percent. They can’t deny FMLA. They try it hoping you won’t use it. It’s mostly overzealous managers bitter about people getting PPL when they didn’t have it.
It’s all a bluff like sick leave abuse for calling off OT. It’s all bull shit
 
Staffing is not a legitimate reason to deny FMLA/PPL. I think the ppl rep through natca is Christina Wilcko? Not sure if it would help but you could contact her and maybe she has resources for you to straighten this out too.
