Hey guys. I know the ATSA is mainly an aptitude test, but I'm a bit worried about solving the equations while avoiding collisions. I haven't taken basic Algebra in years, do you think reviewing how to solve basic equations will help, or should I spring for the ATSA prep?

Control airplanes. Most math is unsolvable in a time given

The questions they ask are like what is 276x37 and then 349/23 they give you about 5 seconds to solve it it’s pretty much impossible simplify what you can as quick as possible and establish priorities which is separation

The math in that part is hard, but one technique that I used was multiplying/dividing the last digit. So for the example 388*17 multiply 8 and 7 to get 56. Then pick the answer with a 6 at the end. It's not perfect as there might be multiple answers with a 6 at the end, but it is better than guessing.

So do we know when we may receive the honor of getting an invitation to take the ATSA?

Also, what will the email address look like that will send it?

Mine says "received" still. I called HR today and asked and they told me my application has been reviewed and I will be receiving an email to set up my test date sometime soon. Apparently it could be weeks or months from now, he said they schedule tests in no specific order.

I might be wrong, but I believe we'll all generally get the emails to schedule the test at the same time. However, there is a large window for when we are able to schedule the test, so some may choose to schedule it right away, while others may be busy or simply want to schedule it for later in the possible window (or the testing centers near them may only offer certain dates) - I think that's what he meant by they schedule them in no specific order, because we get to pick our date ourselves.

That worked when I used ATC prep but on the ATSA most answers ended in the same number so that method quickly went out the window. Also the answers sometimes would be like A. 14.7 B. 14.3 C. 15.1 D. 15.4 so it'd be close to impossible. Separation was much more important it seemed.

Yes, forget about the math until you've separated the dots.

It seems like a lot of people are calling to check on their application when it says "received" only (no rejection indicated). If people stopped calling HR then maybe they could get their work done and we could all move on instead of wasting their time on phone calls - just a thought.

Agreed. The only people that have had it changed from "received" have been ones that are rejected/not qualified. Seems pretty safe to say that if you're still at "received" you will be invited to take the test, just have to learn to be patient - it's only going to be more waiting from here on in.

Mine changed to "reviewed" and eligible for further consideration.

UPDATE: Even though the test dates haven't changed (12/20) the testing website now shows the testing locations for each state. So things are moving along.
