Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

When I did my secret security clearance , they wanted to know about any foreign person I’m still in contact with but is not living in the US. So immediate family, extended family, friends and so on. Hope that helps.
"Do you have, or have you had, close and/or continuing contact with a foreign national within the last seven (7) years with whom you, or your spouse, or legally recognized civil union/domestic partner, or cohabitant are bound by affection, influence, common interests, and/or obligation? Include associates as well as relatives, not previously listed in Section 18. "
I studied abroad in Australia 4 years ago, so I obviously had contact with foreign nationals during that time. However, I haven't really been in contact with any Aussies for a little over a year, though I'm still friends on Facebook with some people I met and went to school with there. Do I think they'd want me to list each one of those people?

When in doubt, disclose.

If you really didn't want to, you'd probably be fine? But the aforementioned "minimal regret theory" applies here. Would you rather disclose and have it be irrelevant or not disclose and it turns out you actually needed to?

assuming we pass clearances will our terminal/enroute placement come with the FOL notification or class date notification? and isn't it usually only about a week in between those two?

The ones I posted? Yes I’m aware.

Oh yeah, I know you know that MJ, I was mentioning that for m457's benefit.

Does anyone know what is the fastest anyone has gone from CIL to FOL? Just genuinely curious. Also heard from a controller I personally know that vets usually get their security clearance faster if they have already had a secret clearance before, which I did when I was in.

Personally I got my FOL 28 days after my CIL, which itself came 3 days after the TOL, so about a month from start to finish. But my process seemed to move faster than normal, and I think that's pretty atypical - I wouldn't get your hopes up for that.

I accidentally signed the portion part regarding medical for the SF-86. I was wondering if I should let them know or that I should be fine once they realize I answered “No” to all of Section 21? Thanks! 🙂

I did the same thing, I still signed and sent it in. I haven’t heard from my security poc if it was wrong to or not.

Does anyone know if you get confirmation that you passed the mmpi2 and the sf86? Or are we just waiting now until we get a FOL?

I don’t think so. Only ppl that are either family members or someone you’re still in frequent contact with.

The lady administering my MMPI said you are only notified if you failed the MMPI not if you passed it, she also showed me the list of everyone thats taken it and how backed up they are grading them. She said its gonna take awhile for them to catch up on that. I dont know about your security stuff.

Per diem question that I’m sure has been answered but I’m an idiot who can’t find it.
I know the FAQ says it’s $94.40/day. How much is allotted to housing vs other expenses. I guess it doesn’t matter much, just curious.

I got my FOL about 2 weeks after finishing all requirements and started the academy less than 2 weeks after that. Had a top secret clearance from the military. I also lived in the OKC area. Not sure if that played a role or not.

Technically, you can contact your medical email included in the CIL for MMPI results. I'd wait a couple weeks because they get them in batches. I did this a few times and they kept saying the results from my date weren't in yet. By the time I was reaching out again, I had my FOL.

Last year, I received my CIL on 1/16. On 3/1 I received my FOL. That was one of the quickest I've heard of. Then again, I took awhile to get my stuff done which I dont recommend. The last thing I did was my drug test, which was about 4 days before receiving my FOL.
