Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

HR just emailed me to let me know that because of my VA disbability, they need every damn record I ever had before they can continue reviewing my application. Service medical, personnel, va medical, psych Evals, 10 year prescription history, literally everything. I hope I can get all of that through the VA because otherwise I have no idea where to look. Pretty bummed that this feels like it could be a disqualifier.

My status changed to referred yesterday. Due to circumstances, I took my ATSA late in Dec and passed. Is it possible TOLs are being sent out this late? And is the TOL the last major weed-out obstacle before all the lengthy paperwork, processing and waiting for an Academy date?

I wouldn’t say it’s the last weed out. You still have your SF-86 BI, medical, MMPI, and drug test. Any of those could potentially be a disqualifying factor. Congrats on being referred tho!

10 years?? Geesh, good luck man

Because AF reserve won't train atc?

You're saying only the state Michigan trains atc in the air guard?

The AF Reserve does have ATC and they would train you from the ground up. I’m not 100% sure of what Reserve bases have that career field but I know the Guard has them at numerous bases on the east coast and a few on the west coast.

Thanks! You're waiting on your TOL since 12/6/18? Is this your first bid? I'm being patient, but the long process can certainly make major life decisions more difficult- especially since there's not much certainty at any stage in the hiring process.

Yeah still waiting and this is my first bid. I’m holding off on some major decisions too so it definitely adds some stressors to life but at the same time you can’t put all your eggs in one basket.

Greetings all, congrats on those who received their TOLs! I was referred on December 17th, 2018 after passing the ATSA, in Pool 1. Still waiting on my TOL. Is it only Pool 2 that is receiving TOL's? Can anyone clarify this for me? Great thanks in advance.

No one knows. You just have to wait. They might not be done sending some out. You might not have scored high enough on the ATSA.

Had my MMPI this morning. Took me about 35 minutes. The test would sometimes advance to the next question as soon as I clicked yes/no, but sometimes not, so I double-jumped several questions because I was also hitting the F4 key to advance... but the system itself seemed to be working.
Had my MMPI this morning and took roughly 35 minutes as well. Reading your experience makes me worried I skipped over some questions since I finished so quick. Here's to hoping I passed and didn't unintentionally prolong this already lengthy process.

I remember mine taking about the same. Don’t stress over it.

I’m a 5 point, pool 1 vet that received a tol. Just keep your email checked is all I can suggest. No one will know for sure if more tols will go out here, but keep your head up and keep checking. I finished my drug test today, so now the long wait begins. Gl everyone.

It took me a little over an hour. Don't stress about it. As long as you answered the questions honestly and you're not hearing voices or an animal killer, I think you'll be ok

Frustrating, but you should be able to get all your medical records from the VA. I believe they become the custodians. Keep your head up. Not the end of the road.
