Has anyone been able to set up CBA for their housing payments yet? I’ve sent two emails to the address on the welcome packet, and left a voicemail, and my housing provider says they still haven’t received confirmation that it’s good to go... and I move in a week from today!
What is CBA?

Hey everyone! Glad to see that a lot of new hires are in the academy or getting dates! I wasn't fortunate enough to get a TOL this round (Qualified band), but I am looking forward to this years bid and retaking the ATSA.

If anyone is interested, this is the FAA's Controller Workforce Plan: FAA 2019-2028

I did find this part interesting: "For FY 2019 hiring, there were fewer well-qualified applicants in Pool 1, thus limiting the number of well-qualified Pool 2 applicants that could be selected for a position."

Just a bad year for ATSA takers?

This pretty much says there won't be any more TOL for the 2018 bid, right? Including Best Qualified band.

Hi! I've been lurking for a while but just got my FOL so I thought I'd share my timeline.

Applied - July 28th
ATSA - November 6th
Referred - December 7th
TOL - December 21st
CIL - February 13th
MMPI - February 14th
Security - February 19th
Drug Test - February 22nd
Physical - February 22nd
Turned in additional lab work - March 29th
FOL - May 21st

My start date is July 11th for Enroute
I am beyond excited and relieved.

FYI: I never received any heads up it was coming. I just got an email one day with a tentative date and some follow up questions, once I accepted it I got my FOL later that day.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations on housing, or advice to share, it would be very welcomed. Thanks guys!

Does anyone know what the schedule is for the week? Is it just Mon - Fri? or Weekends too?
Haven't actually been there yet, but heard good things about Anatole and I had no trouble booking there through Corporate Housing Solutions. I would recommend deciding on a place and calling to reserve it asap though. I apparently got the last place at Anatole that would be open June 27th.

I don’t think they’ll be sending more out. Historically, I don’t think they’ve sent out offers beyond March. With the rumors and possibility of a new OTS bid next month, they’ll probably just hope for higher scores on the next round of ATSA takers.

Yes I know. It’s rotating shifts though right? You don’t get stuck on one shift.
Typically it's night shift, night shift, varies, day shift, day shift. Repeat that every week. Once fully certified potentially throw in a midnight shift and/or some overtime (potentially before fully certified for OT)

For those tier 2, how did you request you VA treatment records? Online download or formally request release of the medical records?

That's so annoying. Wish they would just take more Pool 2 then...

It sucks in cases like this years, but in their defense, they are literally required by law to do it that way. Here’s a link to the HR if you’re interested, I think the part that pertains to this rule starts at the bottom of page 6.

Thanks for that, yeah, I kept reading the previous document and saw the part about FESSA. I totally get they have no control, just sucks in general like you said.

Medical finally responded to my e-mail that I sent 2 weeks ago. They told me that I failed my MMPI, and that they have sent my stuff to HQ. But it’s nice knowing that I am not completely lost in the shuffle! Just waiting for Hope now...
Same thing happened to me. I have yet to receive anything formally telling me I am Tier II, or what to do next.

Sorry if this was known prior but looking at page 47 of the Workforce Plan is very telling. Only 240 were able to be taken from Pool 1 so only 264 people from Pool 2 were able to be chosen. That's crazy low! There were 783 other well-qualified Pool 2 applicants! Sheesh

FYI - There are 6 leasing companies that have units at Anatole so if you want to stay there try all 6 until you find one.

I actually called student services today cause I also emailed last week and today and still no response. I called them and they said the guy who handles it was out today and it will get taken cared for tomorrow. I would give them a call just to let them know. And then follow up early next week if anything.

Same problem here! I move in next Wednesday.

I sent them my e-download records and I didnt get any push back. I would send them the e-recs and still request the others as a back up.

Has anyone who got an email last Monday from Hope heard anything else? I emailed her back ten mins after getting her message and heard nothing back.

So they basically took a third of OTS/pool2 hires that were well-qualified, and now are going to make another bid which will add more OTS hires. Both bids will be limited by the number of qualified candidates in pool 1. Both FY2018 and even FY2019 could continue to see this trend, have candidates sit as well qualified and wait years.

This probably explains why the original pre shutdown plan was to send another OTS bid out around January.

I think what the FAA should do is hire all those well qualified pool 1 Veterans/CTI applicants, if they exhaust all them, continue to hire the pool 2 well-qualified applicants but then dip into the next band for pool 1.

Personally I think the 10% rule is stupid. It should be that you’re all considered OTS and the only difference is Vets/CTI can have extra points added to their application for preference in hiring. Other agencies do that for Vets no problem. Only issue is assigning a point value for CTI.
