When is the NEXT 2019 Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee Open Bid?

Am I the only one that thinks the FAA should probably improve the on-boarding/selection process first before putting out another new bid? I’m pretty sure there are people out there still waiting for academy class dates from prior years bids, whether they were tier 2’d or failed background checks or whatnot.
Instead of improving the hiring process they just flood HR with thousands of new candidates to sift through... that seems to be the answer that’s working every time. But then again, it is the federal government, shits gotta get done a**backwards. I guess it’s just a numbers game.
-Rant over

They’re trying to get people into class dates ASAP. They aren’t going to wait around until everyone is cleared from one bid to start up a new one. Staffing sucks right now. They want to move as many people into the academy to eventually get to facilities as possible.

The academy is actually pretty busy right now. Or at least it seems that way. They can only fit 18 people in a classroom and only 2 classes per week in each room.

Where do i upload my unofficial transcript? I'm not seeing a place in resume builder. is it part of the actual application?

There an "additional documents" tab or something similar on the same page that you can upload your resume. When you go to upload it, there will be an option to select what kind of document it is and transcript is one them.

Got my application all ready to go. Heard a few pages ago that we can apply at 9pm pacific time since it'll be 12am eastern that the application opens? Is that correct or speculation?

edit: nevermind, I went back and double checked. Looks like a few people confirmed.
Good luck to us!

Great info on this page especially in the FAQ. Maybe I'm just nervous about applying but I had some questions. First I recently got awarded VA disability and I'm a little confused about the sf-15. Do I print it out, fill it in and upload it with the award letter and dd214 as one file or? Also I made it into the qualifed group on the last bid but only had 5 point preference at the time, should I try to retake the exam or will 10 point preference be enough to help me get the job this time? Any help would be appreciated, sorry if this is already answered.

I'm still listed as refered for that bid but I never got a tol or anything. Only got as far as passing the test

Random question. Looking to see if anyone knows anything . If pure speculation/ rude opinion just keep to urself. Will be fairly brief. Have 52 weeks of ATC experience during my military career (3yrs) however I never got my CTO due to having slow traffic at the base I was at and overload of trainees . I Applied for an Air traffic trainee spot in 2016. Got accepted went through the whole process of trying to get waivers for alcohol related incidents. My medical got denied and I got disqualified for substance dependence. I am going to apply again with the understanding the chances are slim to none. It’s been over 5 years since my last incident and I’ve got 4 things on my record expunged since the last time I applied due to dismissal. I guess what I’m asking does anyone know of anyone after 2-3 years of being denied, Getting hired?

Also being that I have 52+ weeks of expierenxe but no CTO would I fall under the category OTS or experience?

being that I am turning 31 in October feel like I might as well give it a last chance. If I fall under the experience controller I may have a few more years to try.

Any good info is appreciated. Thanks

For a prior experience bid you NEED 52 weeks of experience POST certification. So with no CTO Air RADAR Approach ratinngs you wouldn’t qualify.

i had 2 years of ground, flight data, and clearance delivery. 18 months of PAR/ASR. None of it counted. I’m at the academy right now. Gotta bite the bullet

You don't qualify for an experienced bid. Regardless, the upcoming one is a no experience bid.

Is anyone uploading their own resume on the "additional documents" page in addition to the USAJobs one? Or are you just using the USAJobs one?

filling out the usajob one produces a saved resume. no need to write one yourself.

Use the USAJOBs resume builder not your own personal one.

how detailed should you be in your job description
General descriptions, if you're using 3 years work experience as a qualifier try to show increasing responsibility over time.
