Last year was my first time applying for the bid and supposedly I scored "best qualified" on the atsa. I'm conflicted whether or not I should retake the atsa because I've read and been told several times to keep the score I have. I'll be a CTI graduate this time next year so if I keep that score, I should be good but if I can get in asap I'm going to try anything. I've also read that people score better the more times they test.
Any insight? I think I should retake just because I may get a better score but there is always that probability that I may not.
I'm also very aware about this ATC hiring process, I will be thinking about this decision for the next couple of months.

Good luck. Currently at the academy from last year's bid. It's a long process but go about your lives. Months of inactivity, followed by a rush of emails, followed by months of inactivity

They said about 500 pool 2 'well qualified' applicants couldn't receive TOL's due to the 10% rule/law. I'd assume your test score was fine, even though their wording of 'well qualified' would seem lower than 'best qualified'.

The ~500 people you mention scored 'best qualified' actually. They added the band after they got rid of the BioQ. 'Well-qualified' seems to be the middle tier now.

I think so too, however, I believe the article worded it differently.

Report "well qualified" = test well and best qualified. They use the term to jazz it up for the audience

How did you get started in that? Did you need any prior qualifications or a dispatch certificate?

We think "Well Qualified" is both Well and Best Qualified according to what everyone has been told.

That's awesome congrats!
After not getting picked up in last year's bid I got my flight dispatcher certification and have just finished ground school at a 121. I applied to this year's bid for the hell of it. Dispatching seems to be an amazing career.

You would need to call HR and ask.

Please don’t bombard HR with questions about whether or not you’re best or well qualified or whatever, 99% of people including myself have never known what score we got or whether we were best qualified or not. And HR doesn’t HAVE to tell you your score because it’s entirely possible some HR reps won’t know your score.

The more time they spend answering calls and emails explaining or not explaining scores, the less time they spend actually processing people’s info. Just saying ??‍♀️

Applied to last year's OTS bid but didn't get a TOL. I was in Pool 2 last year and Pool 1 this year. Hopefully it goes better this time around.

So I just got off the phone with HR and they're doing things a little differently. Instead of the ATSA they're doing the Fitness Gram Pacer Test. While doing that you have to answer math problems while responding to VFR call outs ONLY if they call from McDonald's Bridge or Sand Springs. Best of luck to everyone.

The Fitnessgram Pacer Test s a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal bodeboop. A sing lap should be completed every time you hear this sound. ding Remember to run in a straight line and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark. Get ready!… Start.
