Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ATCEXP-61675

Not sure why LAN is listed as a 7. We’re a 6 officially but a downgrade is definitely coming. AZO absorbed the TRACONs of LAN, MBS, FNT, GRR, and MKG.

What happens to your pay when you get down graded? Does it stay the same? Go down?

Our thread is pretty dead compared to other hiring bids. The one before and after us have way more pages of comments.

I think a lot of people already got through the process. I'm still waiting on my facility list.

How quick was the process after you guys got your facility lists? Like, the time between sending your list back and your start date? If anyone has gotten that far.

They'll give you 3 start date options, like 2 weeks out 4 weeks and 6 weeks roughly depending on the pay period.

True indeed. Just got an email asking for dates for POC. And my start date is just a month away. Fuckin' finally.

What facility did you get? And congratulations!

Brackett Field. KPOC.

It's only a level 5 with no radar, but that means training is less than a year and, accordingly to one of the supervisors I spoke to when I called, transferring should be easy.

They're 91% staffed already so I imagine I'll be checked out and dipping out relatively soon.

Good deal, that’s a good perspective to have, keep it. A lot of guys out there don’t get it

Word of advice don't take stock on anyone telling you transferring will be easy folks have been trying to leave well staffed facilities for a while with no luck.

That is true. But the facility doesn't operate 24 hours so there's no mid-shifts to worry about. Closes at 9pm as a matter of fact. That and the fact it's only ground and local are the main reasons I chose it.
