So I have my medical in a few days and I'm embarrassed to say I'm a little overweight but not like obese. Will that cause me problem for medical clearance?

I spoke to her today because I had some issues with delivery of my fingerprints to security. She was very helpful! I believe her, along with a few other HR POC's just got back from holiday.

I spoke to her the other day too, nothing major but she told me she hasn't received any clearances for me and I finished my CIL on 12/16. I had to redo my drug test because it was too diluted with water, that came from an LB who is a drug test analyst.

As long as you don't have anything disqualifying (seizures, heart problems, ect.), have good vision, good hearing, vitals are good, and you pass urinalysis and EKG, you're fine. They aren't going to make you run a 5k.

Its alright, man. I'm 5'10" and weight about 215 lbs. Just got my start date today, so I'd say as long as you're healthy you'll be fine.

Is there a reason behind the tattoos? First I've heard of this. I have 2 on my back and one on my leg that wouldn't be visible at all. None are anything disrespectful so I don't mind showing them.

Hey guys I've completed all my requirements- just looking through academy dates, Terminal is 3 months and Enroute is 4 months long, is that correct?

Wondering the same thing. So basics is 25 days and then you do an initial 2-3 months of training in OKC I think. Can anyone clarify?

My AME saw my tattoo on my chest and he asked me a light hearted question about it, but nothing medical related. I didn't realize this is something they look into?

Basics is 25 days. Initial tower is 37 days. Initial enroute is 60 days. These are class days, so make sure you account for weekends and holidays.

Haha, my AME was a funny guy. I told him I had a degree in Biology early on and so he started referring to any body part in anatomically correct lingo. He asked about tattoos and I was like, "Yep, I have a **** on right posterior medial malleolus." He was like, "Ooo, can I see?" So I showed him. He said it was something that was asked on the form, but I don't know if they will always ask to see them.

I should be okay then haha. If I do have something disqualifying at least I find out on the FAAs dime!

I was expecting to get one so I was surprised when I finished that he didn't request one. I should have asked about it but figured that office knew what they were doing (the AME stated that he's examined several people from this ATC bid already). Isn't it a requirement for the medical examiner to do a urinalysis or is that tested along with the drug test?

As far as I'm aware, yes. The AME urinalysis tests for diabetes and the drug tests for well...drugs.

You will have to go back and do one.

Tower is terminal?


So Enroute would be roughly around 17 weeks= 4 (3.92) months
Terminal would be 12.4 weeks= 3 (2.86) months

CG is my HR rep. For those who drove from the mid Atlantic region, which route is more enjoyable to drive? Going through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri, or going through Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas?

Hey guys- just to confirm- if you go to academy you have weekends off? I have a family wedding that I'd love to make on a saturday...

FAQ only mentions federal holidays as to when the academy is closed.
