Training hold

Politics and health concerns notwithstanding, I'm about 50% on my "coronavirus fatigue" meter. Getting pretty sick of wearing a mask and all this shit being closed, say what you will.

As soon as restrictions are lifted, I'm gonna get blackout drunk and pass out in the parking lot tailgating for a Phils game.
I say keep this shit going thru September. My TSP has plenty of time to recover and it's my last child free summer, trying to make the most of it haha.

I'll wear a mask while I'm at the store buying beer if it means I can social distance on my boat or camping or whatever 15 days a month.

Recently got word that there’s been an upward trend with traffic numbers at my facility and they’re about to transition to 5 on 5 off to accommodate.

Honestly, I’d be surprised if they don’t recall developmentals on June 15th. With a general upward trend in traffic numbers, a general downward trend in COVID numbers, mixed with the fact that the majority of the country already has or will have reopened shortly, it’s going to be hard for NATCA or the agency to justify keeping trainees at home much longer.
I like your optimism sir!

First of all how dare you./s Secondly that's fine but at least tell the trainees that instead of letting them be useless 30 days at a time

We’ll be on this schedule through Labor Day... at the end of the day, traffic can go up but social distancing practices will trump anything.

I think you’re delusional if you think we would remain on this schedule even if traffic miraculously came back while social distancing is still a thing. The only reason we’re on this schedule is because of the combination of low traffic and social distancing. If one or the other went away, we’d be moving towards normal schedules. Many facilities are already moving from 5/10 to 5/5 due to traffic. Don’t forget we have a job we’re expected to do. Plenty of people out there still going to work every day. OJT may be a different story.

TSA trainees maybe....I haven’t seen the airlines pull planes out of storage yet. Looks like the middle seat won’t be blocked off like they wanted....
I think airlines will be trying to consolidate to as few of flights as possible as passengers increase but as I said in another post the upward trend has to begin somewhere

We control planes, not passenger counts. Till the airlines start moving planes out the desert, doesn’t mean jack to me....

Yes, but an uptick in passengers means demand is coming back slowly which eventually means traffic picks back up as they add more flights. I've heard rumors of some of the majors adding ~100 flights per day on their June schedules.

But regardless, non-essentials (DEV, CPCITs at home) are screwed. Not coming back to work anytime soon.
