Training hold

In one is the lists of duties for the job application it says something like “will train other controllers” or will provide on the job training”.
Even if it wasn’t we work for the FAA so they can change our job description whenever they want as long as it doesn’t run afoul of the contract. And I’m pretty sure the contract leaves a lot up to the agency with regard to how training is accomplished.

Just because they put them on doesn’t mean they’ll train.
Maybe, maybe not. Just stating that trainees (already on the floor) are back on the schedule. Not sure about the trainees up in the training department. Maybe they will zoom into 2021. One can only speculate ??‍♂️

NATCA needing to be more forthcoming with information and it being a good idea to reach out to NATCA leadership can both be true at the same time.
Don’t disagree. But I’m not the one mocking one of those choices

Saying you need to email your union’s national president or VP to get information on an ongoing, 5 month long, unprecedented, nation-wide situation that’s effecting hundreds of dues paying members long-term careers is like telling someone who’s house is on fire to call the fire Chief because none of the people on the ground will tell you what the hell the status of your house is, or what’s the plan to put it out.

But would you if that’s what it took? Or would you just stand there watching your house burn. We’re all acknowledging that it’s not been handled in the best way and offering the only solution that allows you to handle it yourself.

If anyone were to actually email Trish or Paul about this, only one of two things would come of it.
1: You’d get some BS political answer with no real information. If they’re not volunteering information or communicating with the trainee workforce, there’s probably a reason. The chances they’ve just totally forgotten about everyone who’s not a CPC is unlikely.
2: Word would fall back down the pipeline and you’d piss off an RVP and/or facrep for going over their heads.

Or both. It’s a waste of time.
