Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

For those done with basics. What are the hours you meet up on zoom for enroute review?

Phase I and II were 1000-1430 CDT with a lunch break. Phase III is 1130-1430 with a few 15 minute breaks here and there. There's another Phase III class before ours from 0800-1100. My class did not get to pick morning or afternoon, we just got stuck with afternoon.

How have these sessions been for you?

Phase I and II for my class had the two 3 hour sessions and you could pick which one you chose to attend, as long as you attended one of them per day. Phase III you were assigned a morning or afternoon class. It's constant review of non-radar. We go through the lesson plans, once we get to the end, we go back and start again. All while new students get added and other students leave for the academy.

Next question: how much of non-radar is applicable to radar? (I know the map is mostly brought over, but what else?)

Knowing your airspace really well is always applicable. But issuing departure clearances. Strip marking. Learning how to talk.

So I onboard on 9/14, am I supposed to be getting an email sometime this week about zoom or any other information before the date occurs? The most recent thing I did was fill out new forms that were added to EODS about 2 weeks ago. Anyone know what comes next?

You onboard, and then 3 weeks to a month later you start classes. They send out emails the week before usually, along with your iPad.

Right. I have seen that most people get the iPad about 3-5 days before their class starts. When you say “they send out emails the week before usually” are you referring to The week before onboarding or the week before actual class?

The week before actual class.

I’m in the same boat, 9/14 terminal but haven’t heard anything yet of on boarding info.
If I get anything I’ll let you know

Just got my on-boarding email as well. Im borrowing a friends iPad for the day. I should be good with that, right? I figured it would be since we will eventually use the iPads they send out.

You don’t have to use an iPad, but the FAA iPad’s have separation games and stuff that are only distributed via FAA iPad’s.
