PC builds

I'd like to upgrade my 6700k before too long also. I have put weeks of time into OC tuning and can only get 4.3 on a good motherboard. It's getting long in the tooth for certain tasks. I want my pc to have a 6c/12t CPU like my mac pro
I don’t think I can fit an i9 on there, might be time for a new board

Psh. Ryzen all the way. I’ll take a 12c/24t 3900x over anything intel has to offer right now. Hype train all aboard for Zen 3 too.

Oh yeah you're gonna need a new board. 7700K was the last chip to fit that socket and it's no upgrade from a 6700K. Going for the baller status with that i9. There a new stimulus check I'm not aware of ?

I'm getting pretty excited to maybe pick up a new Zen 3 chip when they're out. Intel doesn't even have pci-e 4.0. Psssshh

Price to performance can’t be beat. Ya intel might be 5-10% faster in games, but I ain’t gonna pay an extra $100-$200 for it.

That GPU is a disgrace for me currently, the whole system is rebuilt for a 3080/3090...yet good luck getting one.

Intel i7-10700k
Corsair RM750x PSU
2 TB SSD
48 GB Ram
X53 Liquid Cooler
Z490 Aorus Ultra MOBO
...
and a 1050 ti GPU
Who needs to install the game when you can just load it into RAM?

Or you can do what I did, build your PC with a hackintosh in mind. I dual-boot Windows and MacOS, using standard PC components. It's pretty solid most of the time, the major downside is that Apple and Nvidia hate each other now so the most recent GPU you can get is a 980 ti I think, or maybe the 10 series. I'm running a Radeon VII, which is not as great for gaming as Nvidia but is the best you can get for now.

True. I was honestly surprised at what they priced them at. I’m thinking it is trying to cut at the AMD “best value” GPU play and grab even more of the market
They recently delayed the RTX 3070 release and ppl have speculated its because they want to price it competitively against AMD's offering.

Question for my nerds out there.... Just bought my first pc a few months back. I just bought a prebuilt because idk how to put all the shit together, plus it was pretty comparable specs for the money to building one. I got that i7-10700k with a 2070 super. How do I see what kind of ghz I'm running? And how do I overclock? It can run pretty high settings on most stuff but sometimes FS2020 will look shitty for a brief moment of warzone will crash and idk if it's just that it got overloaded or it's just a game error.

Get CAM from NZXT, it's free monitoring software so you can tell what loads your equipment is taking in and the temperatures. 10th gen intel and a 2070 should be running stuff perfectly fine, so you might have a temperature issue or a program is leaching power.

Warzone crashes the game runs like shit on everything, one of the worst optimized games I’ve seen. Also I’d check to see if your CPU is even running at 100% during flight sim or if it’s something else bottlenecking the system, like RAM or your GPU

I’d wager RAM. That CPU is a beast
