CPC reinstatements

I spoke with the staffing manager at the facility I want. He made it sound like there's a really good chance I can get hired with this. Just need to finish my 6 month separation.

How did you go about bringing it up? Did you know him previously or is it a new facility for you?

New facility for me. I just called the facility, got referred to him and set up a tour/meeting and let him know I am interested in working there.

Looks like there's already been a change to this. I spoke with ATO today and they sent me an excerpt quoting one year as the minimum time before eligibility for different facilities.

So you have to wait a year before going if you do go

received reinstatement yesterday!!

Congratulations! The Air Traffic Organization would like me to offer you the follow facility:

Fort Worth ARTCC, Fort Worth, TX

If you are going to accept this facility assignment, please advise which of the following start dates (you will report the following duty day) will work for you no later than: Monday August 21, 2017

October 15, 2017
October 29, 2017
November 12, 2017

Congrats man! You're the second person I know of that has been hired back through the reinstatement. Hopefully it becomes easier for all the others who are trying.

Are there really that many CPCs who quit trying to get back in? Not counting those who have/will quit to try and use this as a way to get to another facility

A number of controllers went DOD when the ERR MOU dropped with the intention of applying to prior experience bids to return. When this opened up, it gave them another avenue to return.

I sent an e-mail to the ATM of one of the facilities I want to work at. Followed up with another e-mail and a voicemail, never heard back.

Do you guys think there is preferred way to go about contacting ATMs to get this going? There are other facilities I'm going to try to get reinstated at but I'm not sure if I'm going about it the right way,

If you're close by, schedule a visit through the facrep or secretary. Ask to do it on a day the ATM will be in. I've never been someplace where they didn't meet me when I visited. Even if the ATM isn't in, an OM or someone else will talk with you.

Thanks MJ. I would, but every facility I want to go to is far away from where I am now. Do you think an ATM would pick someone up without a meet and greet?

On the other hand, it may be worth a few hundred dollars in airfare and hotel to get that meeting and make things happen. Just not sure how many times I'm able to do something like that until I get picked up somewhere.

In that case I'd probably just call the front desk until I was able to talk the the ATM. Wouldn't hurt to get in touch with the facrep and engage them as well.

So I got this from Aviation Careers about reinstatement:

To apply for reinstatement please follow the listed guidance:
**Selection/Assignment placement is based on need of the agency. Selection and facility placement is not guaranteed. **
Reinstatement applicants must have CPC status.
Submit full application package and certifications to facility manager of choice, unless separated within 6 months, then must apply to location where separated. Facility manager will route application package as necessary. Application package must include:
• Resume
• Copies of certifications
• SF 50 original Appointment
• SF 50 completion of probationary period
• SF 50 Separation
For copies of these documents, you must request through https://www.archives.gov/
Prior training failure at any level may constitute basis for non-selection.
Reinstatement applicants must meet the following conditions:
• Must be reinstatement eligible
• Meet age requirements (some exemptions/provisions apply)
• Medical requirements
• Security requirements

So you don't really get to pick your facility? So this is just a new way to apply for reinstatement but ultimately they still tell you where you are going?
