CPC reinstatements

Well that's fucked. Your think they'd at least give you a list of lvl 7s and below or what they're giving current hires from contract/military facilities which is including a lot of lvl 9s and 8s now.

Them wanting to limit prior FAA CPCs that quite to their previous facility level is so stupid
Funny enough that and taking a 30-40k pay cut from my current contract tower was my exact rebuttal and they didn’t email me back…

Damn,… base pay vs base pay is 40k less? That’d mean you make over 100k base at contract?
If they’re giving this guy with massive amounts of experience 5s or below, the answer is yes. Only overtime and/or diff is the only thing that will drive somebody north of 6 figures. Unless they are high senority.

Some busy contract towers earn much more than the FAA 4-5 facilities. Granted there is more work with less staffing than the already short staffed FAA facilities. The contract facilities are earning their money. I have toured many and commend those controllers for doing more with less.

Mick campaigned on this. He has yet to do anything meaningful to fix our f*cking pay. But sold t shirts. Gotta give it to him. Grift gonna grift.

I’m pretty sure NATCA seniority means nothing unless you want an article 114 detail. Can somebody ELI5 NATCA seniority to me?

Total BUE time. Not federal service and not NATCA time.
I was using NATCA time in place of BUE time. I didn't realize there was a difference honestly. I know BUE time doesn't necessarily mean that you are a dues paying member but I still thought that's what NATCA time is. But yes officially it's BUE time

Alt account so I don’t out myself. Does anyone know, or know who I can ask, if I leave my Z and get a DOD job in a tower, if I reapply to the FAA, am I still only going to get same level Zs and below? Or will the FAA consider tower experience gained outside the FAA?

DoD is extremely full and very competitive at this point. The short answer is Z's and Terminal (but double check me on the SOP).

So I understand if you held CPC for 52 weeks+, have been out of the FAA for more than a year, then they give you a list of facilities with levels equivalent to or lower to where you were previously certified at. What if my spouse is a CPC but there isn’t a facility in the area that I would be eligible for due to my previous level experience (e.g they’re at a 9 but my previous facility was a 5 but the lowest level in the area is a 6). Would they still do spousal accommodation for that level 6 in the area or would I just be out of luck and have to pick a level 5 or below somewhere away from them?

Talk to HR, I suspect a spousal accommodation in the area will be for the lower level facility, not saying that they would make an exception but set expectations. Asking never hurt anyone, but be prepared for a "no."

Just apply to the previous experience bid and they wont have a strict level cap.
