Next ATC zero?

I'm totally fine with some kind of action against people who show up symptomatic, 100 percent, and natca should be too if they are worried about the collective health and safety of BUEs and want a safe workplace.

If it's the middle of a pandemic and you are showing up sick with symptoms of the disease, that makes you an asshole, and natca should absolutely be doing something along with the FAA to protect the rest of the people working there.
I completely agree, Natca should be protecting my asshole from the rest of the people working there

Are people really applauding going atc zero in other facilities?
You’ll never get that raise you are so desperate for being this slow.
Yes there are people applauding the cleaning and don’t care if the facility is ATC zero because it means they get the night off.
What don’t you understand about people having different opinions than you?

Who is getting the night off? The controllers don’t get the leave. They come back 2 hours later when the cleaning is done.

Not at every facility. Lga last week, the mids didn’t come in.
Even if it’s 2 hours those controllers don’t have to work them. Some applaud just that.

Why is it crazy to not be pretty okay with a couple free hours off work?

Hell I'm over the moon with covid scheds.best year of my career, and I'm also in a training status.
Just crazy wanting your facility to go atc zero. Just something I haven’t seen I guess

He’s having trouble understanding people think differently than him.

It’s not just wanting to go ATC zero, it’s also not caring if they do. “What do I care, I’m getting paid” mentaility.
Edit: For the record I agree with you, I can’t believe someone wouldn’t care or wants to. But I accept they think that way, accept that it’s stupid and accept I won’t convince them otherwise

I just don't get your line of thought. It's not something a bue did to go atc zero. It's a national policy, not some disaster or someone pulling a McCarron tower.

So that said, no I would not care in the least bit about my fac going atc zero. My job performance didn't cause it, no skin off my back, and my facility isn't getting some special atta boy award for not having done so, so who the hell cares?

Then again, Im not a Gung ho hero controller either. My level of care about the national airspace system drops dramatically when I drive out the gates at the end of my shift.

I understand. I just think keeping the airspace open would be better and should be the preferred outcome.

Planes getting huge hundreds mile re routes isn’t great IMO. Like if Oakland goes atc zero that’s the whole Pacific Ocean to Hawaii

Let me put it a different way. I'm not at work right now. If, for example there was a local order or airspace directive that I felt was unsafe and caused an accident while I'm not there, it's not My problem. Sure I'd feel bad for those involved, and can say ya I always thought that was dumb, but it's not my decision to make the rules, just abide by them.

Besides in your example of oceanic.... On a mid what are we talking about, 100 airplanes or less over millions of square miles, all equipped with GPS and tcas? I'm not worried about a collision there, and let's be real, if they are out over the middle of the pacific and have a problem there's nothing you can do for them that thier ops people can't also handle.

Stop being a hero controller, you'll live longer and enjoy your career more.

Do you think controllers will be included in the first rounds of vaccines considering it would help mitigate the closures that will inevitably get worse?
