Lawmakers/politicians aren’t stupid(as hard as that may be to believe), they are keenly aware of the amount of fuckery that they can get away with. Shutting the govt down after literally not doing shit for 6 months is a bridge too far for even them.

I think that the law is huge too. Employees get back paid no matter what. Now nobody wants a shutdown all the sudden.

Not all trainees are back. Anyone without a current certification is still on EA which is hundreds of trainees.

There’s no sense bringing trainees back and putting more people at risk to get the virus if we aren’t going to train. If management within the agency had any logic at all I assume trainees would start training. Because of what I just said above, I doubt we start training.

How many trainees even came back? Most with certs came back in June and are already training. There’s a huge cadre of AGs that still aren’t back

Every D1 and D2 Trainee at my facility was recalled last week. We recertified in July and sat at home until the National recall. AGs are still at home

The union has made it quite clear they could care less about how much of a financial impact this whole thing has had on trainees. It’s been said on multiple telecons they aren’t even going to try and fight for back pay. They sure fought like hell for those cushy reduced staffing schedules though.

So you didn't have anyone up the classroom in March, who lapsed before recerts were allowed? I'm starting to think there are only a handful of people in that boat, I assumed there were hundreds agency wide.
