Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

Does anyone know if you are an OTS applicant in pool 2, if you get a TOL does it automatically assign you to terminal or enroute or do you have the chance to choose before or after the academy?

Still blows my mind how many people don't take the time to read before asking stupid questions. It's automatically assigned to you. You have no say.

I believe it’s from the faa email that sent out the atsa invitations

2016 bid mine came from an actual HR employee, Firstname.Lastname@faa(dot)gov

What mrobs said. Also, many people got informed from the Patriots email which was a disaster but I am sure there was some meaning behind it. Anyways, you respond to it but never get a confirmation and eventually you end up getting assigned an HR rep at a later time and have to resend your TOL. Fun stuff!

Thanks for the information everyone. I am just making sure I am prepared and that my spam filter isn't going to kick it out if I get one. I really appreciate the info. I figure I might as well be prepared if something happens. lol

Pay Mike A no attn. He only talks tough online.

His delivery might have been a little harsh but he makes a point. A lot of the information in this thread is really easy to search for and has been answered many times.

^what fightclub said also people are anxious and excited to receive something that could potentially be life changing for them. Really don’t see the point of being rude to someone who is just really looking forward to a new career opportunity.

anything to distract from the crippling thoughts of rejection, ask me what 2+2 is i'll do the proof for it

Similarly people who come on here looking for real information get tired of having to sift through repetitive posts because people are too lazy to do searches. That in itself is rude. So I'll be rude to people being rude that's a pretty normal thing.

Alright, so for the age limit, I am currently 29, but will turn 30 in March. Based on the current bid, will I still be ok for the age limit if I still don't receive a date for the academy before my 31st birthday with the assumption it could take 2 years?

Or if for whatever reason I don't make this bid am I even able to apply on the next bid (assuming there will be one) if I hit my 31st before I would receive a FOL?

Your age is locked in from when you applied to the bid. I was 30 when I applied to the 2016 bid. Couple weeks after turned 31 and am now 32 and heading to the academy in February.

Ok, I may have misunderstood how the announcement reads. I read it as when you receive an offer, but locking in at the application age sounds good to me.

It was like that prior to the new laws of 2016. Now you have to meet the age requires at the close of the bid.
