Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

Correct. No other considerations are made within the group. 80=100. Welcome to the FAA. You could be Archie League's great grandson with a commercial pilots license, 10 years of foreign ATC experience, straight A student, etc and none of that would be factored in. It's unfortunate, but sadly this is probably the most 'fair' the process has been. You used to be able to have a 70 on the AT-SAT and as long as you 'knew a guy', you could get selected over people with 100's.

Correct, referral list has not been made, just talking in generalities

Correct, no point in worrying. They have previously stated that everyone who AT-SA-ed would be notified by 11/30 if they passed/failed. As long as your application on USAjobs hasn't updated to the contrary, you're still in the running.

I was getting 90%+ on the two math sections and plane spacial one and like mid 80% on radar simulation on ATC prep. I feel like I did similar, if not better on the first 3 sections. Only thing I'm nervous about is somehow contradicting myself on the stupid 2nd round of bioq. I walked out feeling confident yet here I am feeling more anxious then Mr Robot on withdrawals. If I did as well as I think I did I should just relax yeah?

Absolutely. 2nd round of personality related questions is simply fact collecting by CAMI, they've always had something similar to that dating back to the AT-SAT, don't worry about that at all.

Ohhhhh I see! Very good to know. And I assume the part 1 is of more importance than the two logical reasoning parts? I know we'll never know how they'll weigh it (unless you secretly do lol) but I'd assume part 1 carries more weight, especially the simulation part.

Can someone explain what the referral list is exactly? Does that mean everyone that got the notice for further consideration has the chance to get to referred status? Is referred status basically a guarantee of a TOL?

If you pass the ATSA (70+) you get on the referral list. From there they pick the top scores until all spots are filled. At least that's how I understand it.

I would say it depends greatly on the number of Band 1 and Band 2 scores, and then the percentage of selected applicants per pool. If the number of applicants selected happens to be the number of Band 1 and Band 2 added together, then yes.

@David Graham is largely correct. The referral list is simply all the candidates that passed the AT-SA. You will not be told which band you fall in. From there, the only next step is receiving a TOL. They will exhaust band 1 candidates before moving on to any band 2. Not everyone that makes the referral list will receive a TOL unless the total number of people who passed the AT-SA are less then the total amount of spots they're looking to fill (~1,400).

will we ever know how many people passed the test?

What I want to know is if you are referred but no TOL how do you find that out other than just waiting and never receiving one.

Pretty much just wait and never receive one. I think my Aviator eventually said something about being qualified but not selected, but it was long after TOLs were going out.

I'm on my phone right now, but I think my USA Jobs is still referred for that bid, to this day.

Yep pretty much just wait. I applied last year and passed ATSA. Got an email about 2 weeks before current bid saying I was not hired and to reapply.

In last years open bid I passed the ATSA but never received a TOL. My USAjobs status was changed about 2 months after the last batch of TOLs were sent out from "referred" to "not hired". I also received an email notifying me that I was not chosen this time.

How much/what can someone who receives a TOL do in order to shorten the amount of time between receiving a TOL and then CIL, and finally FOL?

I would say there isn't anything you can do in the way of making the process go faster on their end but start preparing all the information you need to get your security and medical done. The more you drag ass on that stuff the longer it will take to get your FOL.

Great, now I have to remember my login credentials for a less-sophisticated resource so I can vent off my sarcasm to avoid discrediting the information provided here.
