Good to see others starting to get class dates. I never got around to posting this last week as I was a little busy. Got an email on Tuesday to start class on Friday. Good luck everyone.

So far people have been getting phone calls with like 3 dates a few weeks apart and then get the official FOL with the date they chose a day later.

The question was whether people are getting an unprompted call or email to notify them that their medical has cleared prior to getting the call for a class date.

Unfortunately no. I’m no expert on Ohio employment law, but I’m not sure there is anything else I could do. Sometimes you just gotta take it on the chin.

Sorry I'm new to this site, but I have done some research and can't seem to find an answer. I applied for the atc trainee position on usajobs like everyone else but the only difference is on usajobs it says I applied for the Alaska academy. Any ideas on timeframe for this?

You applied for Alaskan Flight Service. Everyone else in this bid is for the nationwide all source air traffic control bid. They applied on 7/7/17.

Once you CPC at your Flight Service Station in Alaska they are trying to streamline the ability for those CPC's to transition to air traffic control. If your end goal is to be an air traffic controller, flight service is a nice back door into the agency. You just need to be cool with living in Alaska for the time being.

Everyone I've seen has found out by emailing their medical POC or after querying their HR rep. They're not ones to let you know anything unprompted unless they need something from you.

So I need to provide more information on a couple past debts that have gone to collections. I am going to pay one off but cannot afford the other one at this time. Has anyone else been in this situation or know how I should go about resolving the issue. I've read people setting up payment plans and just sending documentation to their POC that they are making payments, is that my best option?

Speaking from experience, just be honest, set up a type of payment plan for the one you can’t afford. Let them know you’re working on it by providing proof of payment (screenshot from bank account, picture of receipt, etc.) didn’t stop them from approving my security but it does depend on amount and type of debt too.

Sounds like your rep just sucks. I faxed over mine and mine replied almost instantly that they were received

One week later. If your issues have been resolved or removed, you should be good. I think they just want to see that your making steps to pay the debt.

Speaking again from experience, I had an old collection account I listed while filling out my paperwork but I noted paid in full, never heard anything from my POC on that debt. If it’s paid and off your credit report they really don’t care.

When I submitted mine by email I didn't hear anything either. Just call to verify.
