Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but I would rather my employer/s find out I'm applying from me instead of from a questionnaire arriving in the mail. Do they send those out before/after they do the interview, or is there any other warning I'll get? Or could they go out as soon as OPM receives my SF86?

I had this same issue. Yes, they’ll likely send out a questionnaire to your boss shortly after receiving your SF-86, which could be months or even years before you get a FOL. It’s unfortunate, but that’s what it is. I also wanted my boss to hear it from me, so I told him right when I submitted my e-QIP that I was being considered for a federal position, but that there was no guarantee of it I’d get the job or not, and even if I did it would likely be a very long time before I’d leave and I’d get plenty of notice. My boss took it well, although I’m sure not everyone would. Fortunately, class dates tend to be given at least 4-6 weeks out, so your boss might be more comfortable if you emphasize that you’ll be able to give him ample notice.
 
Just got a TOL from this bid, even though I have one from the N90 bid. I'm considering whether I should drop the other one for the chance to get into a class faster, as the N90 classes have pretty much been booked for the rest of the year. Can anyone tell me what dates people have gotten class dates for so far?

Yeah same here lol I got to a point where I was like screw the math, I’d rather keep these dots away from each other ? I haven’t gotten an offer yet tho. Fingers crossed they hook a brother up.
 
Just spoke with HR again and they said they “do have additional selections they are making, if selected you will receive communication via email listed on your application.”

I do wonder if it will only be Pool 2 tho since that’s what the recent offers have been.
 
Just received my TOL after 4 years of applying.

Just curious, how do you think my process is going to be considering that I am deploying to Iraq in 2 weeks with the national guard? (Current ATC)

Impeccable timing by the FAA, just glad to have received a TOL.
