Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Hey everyone!

Been browsing through the forums, but just wanted to make sure I am doing everything correctly so far with the CIL process. I have already sent in my fingerprints, finished my E-QIP, scheduled my medical and Minnesota personality test for April. Now I need to send in my pre employment medical form and wait for my Med Express email correct? Also just sent in the documents this afternoon pertaining to the basics class that was received in email a couple of days ago. Am I missing anything? Thanks for your input!

Will be done with everything officially tomorrow morning after my drug test. After, the long wait begins.

I’ll be done with everything on Wednesday. I think I’m most paranoid about randomly getting flagged on the MMPI. Tier 2 would mean months longer if waiting...

Yea I’m already looking at months of waiting because of my medical.

At my medical exam the PA measured my blood pressure as 149/80, and said I was just below the cutoff of 150. But I think she may have been confusing that with the pilot standards, or something; one thing I found indicated the max was 155, another said 150 for 30-40 year olds but 140 for under-30.

I'm not super worried long-term, because my usual BP is more like 125/75 and I'll probably be fine if they need me to come back and get it measured again—but is this likely to hold up my medical in the meantime? Anyone have experience?

I was in a similar position, Yup. My last BP readings at the VA a few weeks ago was 129/83 and 123/86, but my reading at my med exam was close to 150/90 I guess due to nerves. My ekg apparently looked good, but my bpm was 96. We’ll just have to wait and see what the flight surgeon says I suppose.

Anybody have TH as their POC or is in the Great Lakes region and has received a CIL. I still haven’t received a CIL, last thing was the OF306 on 2/8

I just asked my POC if we would get notified if you passed/failed the MMPI, and she replied "I believe you will be notified if you did NOT pass the test. I don’t know if they notify you otherwise. I’m sorry I can’t be any help."
This may have already been known around here but I figured I'd share.

On the pre-employment interview worksheet....
Medical conditions, what exactly are they wanting disclosed? I don’t have any ongoing medical conditions, but if I had a sinus infection two years ago that I took an antibiotic for, do they expect me to list that?

I had the same question. I ended up not listing small doctors visits. I think they're looking for long term medical conditions not the common cold. I only listed surgeries and serious medical visits and the doctor said I was good to go at my medical. But I also think it doesnt hurt to be diligent and list anything you think they might be looking for.

Didn't see it posted in this thread yet, could have been yesterday when I was reading while buzzed, but someone on reddit posted this:

"Finished my CTI program after the bid so I applied pool 2. Figured I’d transfer to a 4 year and continue education while waiting to get in with the FAA. Had a phone call last week with some former controllers who are now professors at the uni I’m transferring to. One of them said there’s a rumor that most of the TOLs sent out so far are from pool 1. A pool 2 TOL wave is speculated to come in the next few weeks. Again, this is a rumor. But fingers crossed. "

I love rumors.
