Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Guys (and girls) I went to the FAA facility for my MMPI, as I live in okc, and my god. The place is a city in and of itself. Pretty excited to get to go there everyday for the academy (hopefully). I have heard from several people that work there (I know a lot of the security guys since that’s what I do currently) and the fitness center out there is supposed to be massive and state of the art. I plan on being in there every morning before class to get my blood pumping and my brain ready to learn.

Once you get to radar scenarios (assuming you get enroute) I would be very surprised if you feel like going to the gym before or even after running problems all day. You’re so mentally done by the end of the day you just want to crawl in to bed and sleep!

I'll see you there. I'm trying to surprise the wife when she sees me again in 2 months.

Not sure if anyone else is into fitness, but it looks like they have a fitness area at the academy free of charge.

It's a very nice facility, but definitely not free of charge. IIRC it was something like $20-30 a month - not crazy, but I knew very few people who used it since most of the housing providers have a gym membership included. Not to mention that after a few weeks/months, you won't want to spend a single extra minute at the center that you don't have to.

Sounds like it's time for you to start looking for a dirt-cheap apartment that's 51 miles outside of OKC so you can receive the housing per diem. :)

All I got after my SF86 was a "thank you for submitting stuff" email from my security POC. Said I cleared the preliminary security process too.

My security POC also requested I send feedback to their management regarding this whole thing. Am I done with everything involving my security POC (like is everything from here on out of his/her hands now)?

To each their own, some folks thrive in chaos. I use the gym now to steam off when I've had a rough day.

How long ago did you submit your SF86?

So I'm new here... Graduated from a CTI program in December, have my USA Jobs resume (resume builder) on file as well as an LOR, now what do I need to be looking/waiting for as the next step? I can't seem to find a definitive explanation of this hiring process. Thanks in advance

EDIT: Since it isn't explicitly stated in that link, the LOR counts for absolutely nothing. You still need to wait for a bid, apply, hopefully take the ATSA, and hope that your score is high enough to be hired. Honestly it's a little concerning that your professors didn't convey any of this to you...

You are looking for an email offering you a TOL, assuming your ATSA score was in the top however many they are accepting.
