Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Any admins or current controllers have the updated hiring numbers? I know last time we were around 460+/- selected but that was before the last wave.

Elaboration on that point:
ATC medicals are deferred to the Regional Flight Surgeon for a decision. If an applicant doesn't pass a portion of the medical during the visit, it's not considered a "failed exam."
I didn't pass the 20/20 vision portion on my initial ATC medical. Went to my eye doctor and he completed a form saying my vision was 20/20 and sent that in. I do not have to check the box #13 "Has your airman certificate ever been denied, suspended, or revoked?' since it was deferred.

Did the FAA send you a document for your optometrist to fill out? Or did your optometrist just write a letter saying your vision was corrected?

About how long does the medical exam usually take? Forgot to ask on the phone
The exam itself took about 40 minutes for me, but I didn't have any current/ongoing conditions or anything. It was all pretty quick and basic.
EDIT: Here's what I posted on here a little while ago:

"I had my physical earlier today. It took around 30-40 min total. They just had me pee in a cup, did an EKG which took around 5-10 min, then tested my eyesight with and without my contact lenses in, did a hearing test where I just had to press a button when I heard tones of different frequencies, and the general blood pressure, heart rate, and stethoscope checks. Doc had me hang out in the exam room for 5ish min while he processed everything then told me they don't do a pass or fail, just pass the info along to whoever's evaluating my eligibility and whatnot. Overall a very low stress process, doc was really nice and informative.
EDIT: I had disclosed a car accident in which I suffered a minor head injury back in August but he just asked me if I'm fully healed, which I am. Not sure if the process would have taken longer if I was still healing. Medical POC asked me to email in all the paperwork regarding the accident, but for the AME eval itself I didn't need any of it"

I haven't received anything relating to scheduling a drug test yet although I have completed my pre-employment medical interview and scheduled an exam with the AME. Am I missing something or does this come later?

Once I submitted my pre-employment medical interview worksheet I got an e-mail detailing how to use MedXpress -- in that e-mail there was a phone number to call to schedule the drug test.

After I sent in my pre-employment documents, I received my drug test email six days later.

My process was exactly like AMD's response up there ^
Just in different order. Roughly 45 minutes.

Completed SF-86 Monday, MMPI and medical today, drug test scheduled for Friday. No worries for the drug test, but hopefully the MMPI doesn't hold anything up. I completed it in an hour and being that I answered things honestly, I'm finally convinced I'm not so crazy after all based off those questions.

The doctor who did my medical exam told me everything looked good as the woman in the office was submitting my paperwork on the computer- shook my hand and wished me luck with the rest of the process. I was worried about my blood pressure being high but luckily I just took a vacation and have been off work for ten days so it was 115/80. A month ago it was 151/90 or so.

I'm ready for a new job like everyone else!

Here's to FOLs!!

So no prostate exam needed?

Hope I didn’t need to pee in a cup. I just did an eye exam, blood pressure, ekg, hearing, and then the breathing in and out stethoscope checks. My doctor talked to me about my overall stuff afterwards and sent me a copy of my ekg to keep. No pee cup.

Yeah you're supposed to pee in a cup to check for diabetes...

Damn. I wonder if they will make me go back or just refer to my recent labs with the VA. They asked me for my full va medical record recently, but that might just be regular protocol.
