Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

These are great and clear up a lot of my questions. One more that I didn't seem to find an answer about (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place} is how long does it typically take to certify and reach the CPC band? Terminal vs en route? I feel like I remember seeing in some forum here that it varies and there was no definite answer but I can't remember for certain and can't find it again.
6 month to 2 years terminal 2-4 years enroute just depends on facility and your ability.

I can't comment on centers but a 7 and below tower only should be less than a year, maybe more if you have seasonal traffic and.a bunch of trainees. 7 and below up/downs I would say expect at least 1.5 years to 2 years. I know people that have been at a level 5 up down for 3+ years and still haven't certified, but that was due to the lack of a good training program. People were averaging maybe 10 hours a month at one point, training team meetings not getting done, trainers refusing to train...

This website shows avg training time and other information about each facility. I assume it's accurate. Someone else who knows more could verify that it is. Air Traffic Control Facilities

For those of you with apartments or leases not ending anytime soon, what’s your plan for taking care of that when you get a class date assuming (and hoping) they’re not far off?
Luckily my lease went month to month in December. Your contract should have a clause addressing lessee terminating the lease early. If it does not look up your state statutes that address what the lessor can collect in fees for early termination. When I have had to terminate early in the past I always contact the landlord asap and tell them what is going on. Most are reasonable people and will work with you to find replacement renters to minimize the cost to you. In the end though they are legally entitled to collect up to the terms of contract/state statute amount in penalties since you are backing out of the agreement.

Personally, I have to give 60 day notice. I will be doing that as soon as I get my date and pay thru those 60 days.

**If you happen to be an active military member there are other laws that might be able to help in this situation.**

Plan on having my girlfriend stay in our apartment and hope that after the academy it will be a little closer to the lease end date. But there should be something in your contract about early termination.

Submitted my SF86 on Monday. I just tried logging back into e-Qip(just to see if it says anything about submission status) and I am getting an error message saying “login failed”
Do they turn off your access once you submit the SF86, or should I be freaking out? Lol

once you submit you're done. if you need to update something you need to contact security poc, but if they started the BI already you won't be able to change anything until(if) they ask you for more info.

There is, it's just expensive as all get out ? wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat. I'll definitely talk to my apartment management and see if they can work with me on that

Best thing to do is talk to the property manager. I’ve moved out early a few times and the only requirement was for me to find a new tenant to pretty much move in when I was moving out and I was off the hook. The earlier to you let them know, the better :) most should be accommodating. At least here in NY they are.

Just heard back from my POC and they said they were just waiting on my MMPI-2 results as well. They were also waiting for my EKG results, but that's because the clinic forgot to do it until after they had already submitted the forms, so they had to fax it separate. And that was after waiting at the clinic for 2 hours to complete the physical. As you can tell, I'm not salty about it at all. ?

Who is your POC, if you don't mind me asking? I emailed mine days ago but no response.

when you say POC do you mean the contact specifically listed as "HR POC" or somebody else like Medical POC...

My HR POC is KH and for my medical POC, I just emailed the medical applicants email. I called KH yesterday and she got back to me this morning, she had said that they got my security clearance, but were just waiting on my medical. I had also emailed the medical applicants email yesterday and they got back to me this morning letting me know where everything was at.

When did you all take the MMPI? I took it 2/22 and still waiting on results as well.
