The radar sim completely throws off my predictions on scoring. The rest of it is pretty straightforward, but the sim bases score on so many factors... how many collisions, how well you prioritize which dots to cancel/how many extra dots you have to cancel, how many math questions you get (I'm assuming they are factored in to some degree)... yeah. I'm sure I did very well on the rest of it, but the radar thing is pretty unclear.
Call me crazy, but I’ll take the radar simulation please and thank you.THAT is exactly how I feel.....I was enlisted infantry and got shot at a lot, and getting shot at was a lot more enjoyable than that damn radar simulation....
LolCall me crazy, but I’ll take the radar simulation please and thank you.
Yeah, no, radar test was definitely not worse than getting shot at.Call me crazy, but I’ll take the radar simulation please and thank you.
Maybe this isn’t the job for you lolTHAT is exactly how I feel.....I was enlisted infantry and got shot at a lot, and getting shot at was a lot more enjoyable than that damn radar simulation....
That test didn’t care about the math it was evaluating your priorities. As an ATC separation is your job everything else comes second. The test is designed to give you more than anyone can possibly handle and see what you choose to focus on.Obviously I did well enough to at least pass. The math at the bottom was what threw me. I managed the collisions just fine but I started freakin out when I couldn’t answer the math fast enough, especially because I was tryin. To do the actual equations. Figured out pretty quick to just look at the last number of each set and the symbol and quickly pick the best option, but the harder I tried at the math the worse I did with the collisions. I’ve coordinated aircraft in combat and that was less stressful than those stupid math problems lol. I figure at least as a real ATC, no one will be shooting at me.
Band one is 85%-100%. Band two is 70%-84%. And these numbers are straight from the horse’s mouth (VP of ATO Glen Martin being the horse lol)Well, which one is it? Or am I just reading wrong and it’s both?
I feel as though I've seen Stinger (a moderator) explicitly say that band 1 is 80-100 and band 2 is 70-79.99.
That was correct for all bids prior to this one, they said the numbers would be changing for Band 1/2 starting with this bid. That’s just what Glen said at the FAAMA meeting in Orlando about a month ago lol. I figure if anyone knows what’s up it’s himI feel as though I've seen Stinger (a moderator) explicitly say that band 1 is 80-100 and band 2 is 70-79.99.
Means you passed the ATSA. Highest scores will receive TOL.I checked my status on USAJobs and it shows as referred, says they're reviewing apps in pool 2 - does that mean they're sending me a TOL, or is that yet to come? Still trying to find sense on how it all works..
Not speaking from experience as I am a candidate as well(old guys, feel free to call me out if I’m wrong on this), but my understanding is you will only receive an email if you are offered a TOL.Will we get an email only if we are selected, or will we get one telling us we were not selected as well?
You'll only get one if you get a TOL. There are most likely multiple rounds anyways, so there's always a chance you get picked up later on. Once it's all done, it'll eventually say 'Not Referred' in USAJobsWill we get an email only if we are selected, or will we get one telling us we were not selected as well?
oh you'll get an email if you aren't selected....around July-ish.Not speaking from experience as I am a candidate as well(old guys, feel free to call me out if I’m wrong on this), but my understanding is you will only receive an email if you are offered a TOL.
