Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

It's not always the way you answered one of the questions. My psych said i answered the questions too perfect so it looked like I was lying. Ex: have you ever lied? Everyone has lied. Be prepared to sit In a room with a shrink and go through your life story.
Well, I’m ready. What’s sucks is that my life has never sucked. Sounds like I’m lying already. Lol

Its just a big mind fuck to think this shit might go on a yr plus hiatus. Can you apply to other bids if your stuck on tier 2?

No because you already have a tol. You would just get hung up at medical again. No way around it, just have to sit and wait.

why don’t they make the MMPI part of the initial application process?? That way people don’t spend hours filling out that SF86 and breaking it to their employers that they will likely be leaving just to find out that they will have to meet with a shrink 12 months later?
I told my boss yesterday that he would likely hear from personnel but I didn’t have a day That I would be leaving yet. As several companies would, he essentially MADE me give him a last day, and I’m not sure how flexible they’ll be if I get tier 2’d as well.
Good luck to those of y’all that got the news today. Hoping I’m not joining you in a couple weeks because I am clueless what I’ll be doing with my life at that point

Tier 2’d on the 2016 bid. Here’s a timeline for y’all

TOL- 3/6/17
CIL-5/16/17
MMPI-6/09/17
Medical exam- 6/30/17
Found out about Tier 2- 8/2/17
Email to schedule appointment with psych- 8/14/17
Psych appointment- 9/2/17
FOL- 12/8/17

This is one of the faster Tier 2 timelines, I believe. I reached out a ton during the Tier 2 process, but I don’t believe that actually speeds things up, I just got lucky. Be ready to jump all over it though when you who are Tier 2’d get further instruction to meet with the psychologists.

Thanks for the post. There is a little hope after all.

Are you a veteran? Just curious. As was mentioned it seems like several from today were

For anyone that knows, how strict is the 10 day buffer between submitting your medical interview sheet and your scheduled medical appt??? I can submit it right now which will be 10 days, but I don't know the exact date for the one medical condition and prescription I've listed, just approximates. Or I could wait until my medical records likely come in the mail tomorrow and give them the exact dates, but it will be only 9 days. Any insight on which would be preferable?

Did you other tier 2 vets have "DD214" and "OMPF (Official Military Personnel File) or entire Personnel Records" marked on your SF-180 form to send in? I found it strange they did not check medical records on mine, also they already have my DD214s.

For the folks that aren't in Tier 2, they seem to be moving pretty quick. I sent in records and the person I talked to about confirming receipt of my docs said that the flight surgeon should review it by the end of next week and we'll have an answer.

I took my MMPI on the 15th, I think I would have heard from them by now... right?

Yeah, when I called they said that they had every MMPI taken up until the 2/21 (as has been mentioned earlier) and that people who didn't clear the MMPI would be notified today or tomorrow? At least that's according to the fine individual processing my supplemental documentation. No news seems to be good news here.

Does the FOL call come from an OKC area code? Also, I’m assuming finding a place to live in that small amount of time is what’s expected? Seems difficult

It should come from an OKC code. They should give you at least 3-4 weeks to find living arrangements. Short, but not difficult.

On a side note- KH said that OPM is updating the pay scales, so once that happens I would expect FOLs to roll out.
