Hey .65
This is an open invitation for all civilian, military, active, or retired Air traffic controllers, flight data / flight service specialists, equipment techs and engineers to come out to the International ATC hockey tournament to play hockey with your fellow co-workers and have a few beers.
The tournament started in 1972 with just 6 teams and has expanded into sometimes 30+ teams with controllers from all over. It’s an absolute blast every year and this past March was no different. Charlotte, NC held the tournament this year and a new team was created from the host city months beforehand after just learning of this tournaments existence, which is the purpose of this post. We want to get the word out again! Even if you don’t play hockey, you can still come out and hang at a new city each year and do your liver 0 favors (please drink responsibly)
Next year’s tourney will be held April 14-19 in Moncton, Canada and in 2025, the 50th anniversary will be held in the originating city, Boston!
If you’re interested please head to the website and find the player rating section, rate your skill level as accurately as possible and reach out to me. I can put you in touch with teams who need players and would love to have ya or if you have enough people to form your own team, that’s even better!
Any and all questions, comments leave them for me and I’d be glad to help out, Cya in Canada!
