1. yes.
2. I remember reading something about 5ish years ago about forwarding...I'm not sure if it was forbidden or highly discouraged though. I tried it at that time to see what happened when I was bored on a mid, and the only time it forwards email to my gmail account is when I send something from my gmail account to my FAA email. I used the email webpage to set it up instead of Outlook, that may have affected it, I have no idea.
