Enroute position relief overlap

So we did 2 minute overlaps at every terminal facility I’ve worked, but don’t at the center. Where can I find in writing whether they are required or not in the enroute environment. I only ask because some FLMs are leaving people on until less than two minutes before their go home time

I'd say specifically this part is why you do 2 minutes:

"d. In the final part of the relief process, the specialist being relieved monitors and reviews the position to ensure that nothing has been overlooked or incorrectly displayed and that the transfer of position responsibility occurred with a complete briefing."

Also your supe sucks for leaving you on routinely till the end of shift.
7110.65 appendix A specifically 2.d and 4.a

If I was legitimately not being relieved until 2 minutes prior, I would absolutely monitor until after my shift ends. Then I would either demand the hr of OT or file a grievance for going over 10hrs, depending on which is applicable. Either of those will make it a mistake the super won't make very many times. 4.a stops them from preventing you from doing this as long as you're not monitoring for an absurd amount of time

The details are in the .65 but I'd it's two minutes before your go home I could easily make that a briefing. I think cry art slots post review in 5 min increments

Bro 2 minutes before your go time? I say you stay on for 3 minutes and get paid a full hour of overtime. Then go home. There's a reason why you can sign out 15 minutes before you go home. Just start timing your break.

My 2 minute before and after is in the sop. I just found it. No idea where I read the 2 minutes can be omitted. But I recall ppl doing it at center.

At the 12 TRACON we overlap for 2 minutes. When I worked at the center we didn’t overlap at all, but the briefing at the center took 3-4 times as long as the briefing on an approach sector. If there were questions at the center I slid over to the d-side for a minute or two to make sure the radar was comfortable.
