Like what CK said. There's a potential government shutdown (basically an every year thing since congress won't pass a budget and just a continuing resolution) by the end of the week. If it does happen, it could slow things down/move back a start date, on top of controllers getting furloughed and/or not paid.
Dang.. that doesn't feel good

I think it'll be fine. They like to wait until last minute anyways. When it happened back in 2013 it caused such extensive flight delays that I doubt they want a repeat. We'll find out by the Friday night though.

They were DQing certain 35+ years olds with no legitimate reason. Few were given TOL's, most were not, but for the most part they were interpreting the rule as if you had to be under 35yrs of age. A friend of mine was one of those not given a TOL. I told him to call them on their BS. They kept giving him the run-around, and I told him to keep on them. Long story short, he fought it and won. They rewrote their policy. He told me if I hadn't kept on him he would have just said screw it. Congrats everyone 35+

Edit: When it comes to your career, don't settle for no.

Outstanding, we owe your friend a great debt. Now if we can just get HR to send out the CILs I'd be a happy man.

For those who got their placements already, how far down your preference list did the FAA give you for your locations?

What was you time line if you don't mind? I was hired on the March 2015 VRA bid and I am finally separating. Completed medical on the 29th of March and am still waiting for the med to clear. Congrats!

I applied for both the Direct Hire (Previous Experience) and the schoolhouse postings in September 2016. It wasn't until early December 2017 that I received a tentative offer. I immediately completed the drug test and MMPI-2. I didn't get a date for medical until the end of January, and immediately completed my medical portion. I was held up a bit (had to get a CT of my kidneys to show no stones due to history). Finally, I was medically cleared April 14. Got my list of facilities on Friday last week April 28, and immediately sent back my "survey" (ordered list of what I wanted). Yesterday, May 3, I got an email saying I was selected for Ft Pierce and there were 3 start dates to choose from. I chose the furthest out because I have to move my family to FL from AZ and we have a house to sell (bahhhhh).

Anyway, yeah. Hope that helps give you an idea.

For what it's worth, I sent in my survey within 20 minutes of receiving it and got my third, so I don't think there is any rhyme or reason. Got called about my FOL a little bit ago, but was driving so I gotta wait until Monday. Good to know it's coming though!
