Jealous you guys got calls for your FOLs already. I picked June 25th start date. Was yours around the same time? I also got my #1 pick. I never received a received email from my acceptance one. Did you guys?

I just received my FOL and yes, picked a start date of 6/25. I didn't receive an email response from my acceptance either. I'm sure you'll get the call any day now. Good luck!

I have the same start date as him, without a FOL where he has one. That's why I inquire when he received his facility placement.

I received the facility assignment email on 4/19 and replied the next day with the start date that would work best.

Is there many more that are still in waiting from this bid? Not much talk traffic on it lately like there was a month ago.

I'm new here and am still awaiting my list. Just had my physical 10 days ago though, so from the timeline of co-workers it could/should be about a month or so before I hear anything.

They all seem pretty similar. I guess I'm just picking what part of the country I prefer. Rochester, NY seems nice.
Yeah Rochester's great, the place is a country club, you'll get an FAA radar ticket (important), they have a really low washout rate and if you watch the CI there's a good chance they'll be back to a 7 before you checkout (pay raise).

I hear that a lot having a FAA radar ticket is important. I've seen / heard people moving into TRACONs that don't have a FAA radar ticket as much as people who have one. So, other than having that "notch" on your belt, is it that important?

Having a radar ticket used to be significant, with the new ERR system a radar ticket is more like an anchor. Yes, if a higher level TRACON facility was ranking two eligible candidates, they would more then likely rank the controller with a radar ticket higher, but you are statistically more likely to be eligible at a tower only.

Yeah eligibility to transfer in the short term is drastically weighted towards tower only. But you get ranked higher by both Tracons and high level towers if you have a radar ticket. Honestly I can't see the trends continuing indefinitely towards tower only but that's just a prediction.
