Can someone tell me how health insurance works with the FAA. My spouse pays a good chuck to cover us a family of 4 with a somewhat crappy deductible and if we will be paying less for monthly premiums that's something to consider while ranking.

Go to the below link and select the state you are looking at. If I had to guess most people in the agency with families have either GEHA or FEP Blue (both have nationwide coverage). You can go to either website to see plan info.

Federal government health insurance is one of the best you can get in price and quality. Just check which provider most people use at the facility.

Just did my survey, not thrilled with my list but I’ll be closer to my family. From 1000+ ops a day to less than 500 and a decent pay increase, yeah I’ll take it so thanks FAA lol

I don't know about the others but I lived in the Norfolk area and it is a great area. Very pretty and very family oriented and lots to do. Lived there 9 years. It's still considered 'the south' as well.

RSW is solid, coming out of a complete culture change (ATM/FLM retirements who were awful). Great facility with some awesome NATCA guys running it.

Yeah. I’ve got SAV number one. I live 35 minutes away right now so that would be insanely convenient. Also am familiar with the airspace because I worked at an adjacent TRACON.

Looking at the stats now, I'd be shocked if they didn't select 4+ to SAV out of this batch. Your odds look good, sounds like it would be a great spot for you as well, good luck!

I’d kill for RDU. Thanks Breakaway! I’d be pretty happy with any of the choices I top 5d too. ABQ would be a stretch as far as moving and stuff, but I know some people out there. Fortunately for us Bo, all of our facilities are up/down, unless I missed something.
