Aspen sounds nice if there was a rent market anywhere near there. I wouldn’t mind Buffalo at all but I have never been north of Tennessee before.

My facility is a little over 2 hours away from Buffalo. I like the area but be prepared for a lot of snow in the winter if you get it

I’m a southerner also. Mississippi born and raised. I was at a contract tower in Oregon before coming here so I was a little prepared for the winter weather

I'm pretty sure there is more than one slot since on the RMC bid that just came out it said few vacancies. Maybe see you there.

I believe PIA is #2 in the placement (hence them having two openings) I'd say you got a pretty decent shot at getting it

They’re going to have to hire mass amounts at some point. A huge portion of certified federal controllers are eligible for retirement or close to it. Those that have been holding down the fort are going to retire eventually.

I was thinking that since the list is alphabetical it said P50 in that spot, they just didn’t know how to delete it and just put PIA twice.

A guy on the USAF ATC page got the same list as these guys + P50. Pretty random.

I don’t think it’s random. I’m guessing they send out the list to as many people as there are facilities on the list, and these guys all get sent to one of those spots. Ex. 10 facilities on a list - list gets sent to 10 people and based on their rankings, they get offered a facility.

That’s not entirely true because XYZ facility could pick up 2, 3, 4 people hypothetically. Seen it in previous bids. It’s not strictly a 1 for 1.

It's not random. It's taken from the placement lists and filtered based on qualifications and some other things.

I just meant that P50 pops up is random considering the rest of the facilities on the list. Not how the list is generated or anything.

So I guess PIA just got downgraded to a 5 a couple weeks ago. Said 6 on my list. I'm real upset I listed it twice in top 5 LOL rip me
