I've just started on the security portion of pre-employment. What, specifically, are you supposed to put in for the first and last space on DOT-1631? Also what do we put in for "Position to which appointed" and "Department, Bureau and duty station" on SF87? Not sure how specific to be here

I just put Air Traffic Controller and FAA and there hasn't seemed to be a problem.

If anyone else failed vision on their medical like me, got a email from my medical POC with a form to give my eye doctor to fill out and submit. Not sure if that means I avoid having to take another medical exam but fingers crossed.

I failed my distance vision but they didnt send me a form for the optometrist to fill out? They said I need an exam to determine my "best corrected vision" and I honestly have no idea what that means. I sent them the prescription I got 2 days ago after i got their email, and they said it was invalid because it doesn't say that my vision has been corrected (I had it corrected to 20/15 because I had 20/20. Also don't know why I failed to begin with) .. what form did you get? Just so I know maybe what I need because I asked them to clarify and their clarification was basically useless.

Is there a reason behind the tattoos?

My AME saw my tattoo on my chest and he asked me a light hearted question about it, but nothing medical related. I didn't realize this is something they look into?

Talking out of my ass here, but here's my guess: They ask about tattoos for pilots as a backup for identifying bodies after a crash. The ATC flight physical is pretty similar to a pilot flight physical and they didn't want to bother making a new form.

I know law enforcement checks for tattoos for gang affiliation/hate group type stuff. I place my money on that.

You're actually taking a pilot's second class medical, and I'm pretty sure it was asked specifically as "identifiable tattoos." So for when you ded. He said, "I don't think anyone would have a problem IDing you though." ?

The medical POC is behind the scenes. You'll only know yours if you get an e-mail and they need more information or you have a case that requires some more work.

There's a general medical inbox for applicants that you can send info to as well if you need to send any info their way.

A few people said they were offered a tour. I was not.

Doesn't hurt to ask, I was declined one when I asked though haha. I know a couple of people that did get to tour the facility when they took their MMPI.
