“For more than a decade, federal employees have endured government shutdowns, pay freezes, hiring freezes, and lost pay as a result of sequestration-related furloughs. More recently, they’ve spent years working tirelessly throughout a global pandemic in service to the American people. The FAIR Act’s wage adjustment restores years of lost wage increases for federal employees by ensuring that federal employees, who serve in all 50 states on behalf of constituents in every congressional district, earn an average pay increase of 8.7 percent.”

Take literally 1 minute out of your day, Republican or Democrat, fill out the form and this will send it to your Representatives to Co-Sponsor. The more the better lads!

That bill is shit. Combine that with the raise we got this year, and it'll be about what we should've already gotten between last year and this year. If they wanted to actually account for lost increases, it needs to be like 15+% (and way less than half of it being locality). What really needs to happen on top of that is reform of the executive pay schedule, without which more and more people are just going to hit the cap every year instead of actually being able to go to the top of their pay bands.

Not saying I wouldn't welcome the pay increase, but if it did pass, Congress would convince themselves they did something meaningful instead of actually fixing the problem, and nothing else would get done for the next decade.

I don’t disagree with you, but for the moment it is a more achievable goal than the 1.6%.

Half the NAS is making 5 figures and this guy’s bitching about the 200 thousand dollar congressional cap.

As nice as this would be there is a 0% chance it passes so no reason to get excited or even think about it. If they were serious this would have been proposed last year when the Dems still controlled all three houses.

Now it’s just a ploy so the writer of the bill can tell his constituents (probably in a district with lots of federal employees) he tried to do something for them. If you look at the co-sponsors it’s all Dems in districts where you would expect to have lots of federal employees too.

The next January adjustment will be in an election year so maybe say one of those prayers or some shit.

Again no disagreement, but we have to try right?

There's 8164 / 10745 (76%) CPC at 8+ which are guaranteed to be 100k+, so that's the minimum. D3s at 8+, and D2s at 11+ are also there, if not very close (~2k total trainees here). Add CPC-ITs, 6s/7s cpc (1655/15% total CPC) with some time in.

1640/10745 (15%) of CPCs at lvl 4-6. 921/10745 (~8.6%) at lvl 7.

~85% looks reasonable

There's 8164 / 21490 (38%) CPC at 8+ which are guaranteed to be 100k+, so that's the minimum. D3s at 8+, and D2s at 11+ are also there, if not very close. Add CPC-ITs, 6s/7s cpc (1655/7.7% total CPC) with some time in. ~50%ish looks like a reasonable estimate
Where did you get the 21k figure? There are not that many FAA controllers

He talked about the congressional cap, contractors wouldn’t be relevant for the purposes of this discussion.
